So I was given a citation, that I signed at the scene admitting that I had drink alcohol after blowing into a breathalyzer.
I was only sent home after this rather than haveing to call parents, or going to jail (I'm 17).
I was wondering, if I am urine tested for alcohol on my court date and they also find THC in my system, do they have the
right to, on top of my MIP, charge me for the use of marijuana even though that is not what the original charge was for?
I had quit smoking for about 3 weeks now, but just last Thursday I had hit a small one hitter twice, so I have no idea if I
am clean, though I am getting a test tomorrow for myself just to see. Prior to this I was a pretty heavy smoker.
(This is in the U.S.)

of course not
I don't think alcohol is included on a standard drug test (even a 9 panel drug test), so I would say you're fine.
To test for alcohol I think they use a different test, called an ETG. It apparently only will test positive for alcohol up to 80 hours.

It's entirely possible to be charged with ingestion, but they probably wont as its kind of a waste of time and money.
So if they use an ETG, that's only to detect ethyl alcohol by-products from the metabolism, and nothing else, right?
Why were you DUI? That is just an all-round terrible thing to do.
I wasn't.

MIP is basically the charge for underage drinking.
Man american drinking laws suck

you can get a ticket for handling alcohol as a minor...

Oh right, my bad. Had no idea what MIP was but I thought from the breathalyzer test that he was driving. Thanks for clearing it up buddy <3
Sorry for accusing you of DUI OP.

MIP = Minor in Possession
i'm really happy that there is no age limit in denmark.

So if I live in denmark, I could go into the store at age like 7 and buy a liter of whiskey? :V

no, you would need someone aged 18 or older to buy it (if the shopowner even cares about the law), but at age 7 you're legally allowed to drink that whole liter of whiskey.
that means that the cops don't go crash parties because of minors drinking.

In America, if a cop goes to bust a house party, sees a 16 year old girl take a shot. They can legally enter the house without a warrant or anything
in new zealand if cop goes to a house party and sees a 5 year old have a shot given to them by their parents and drinks it
They will smile and ignore it
