On this angle, we believed that allowing more to be eligible to join is obviously the answer and as many of our female teams have expressed -- Lesbian, Gay, Transgendered Women members are their friends too. On the other hand, for any competitions, we seriously look at ensuring there's a fair level playing field for all participants. And there are arguments and concerns from other participants who disputes that Lesbian, Gay, Transgendered Women members may probably have some unfair advantage. Putting all these points into consideration, we wish to experiment on the following changes to be implemented in this 2nd leg: 1) Each team will be allowed to have a maximum of one (1) Gay/Transgendered woman for the entirety of the tournament day. Therefore, teams cannot do the following: Team_A's first game will be 4 female members and 1 gay, then on Team_A's second game, they will have 4 female members and replace with another gay or transgender member. 2) Any team who has violated the above provision, regardless if intentional or otherwise, whether discovered during the day of the event or some time after, will have all their team members (the female members as well as the Lesbian, Gay, Transgendered women member) sanctioned with a 1-year ban on all Garena-organized events, including subsequent Iron Solari Tournament.
SEA/Singapore keeps being backwards as fuck, doesn't help that it's not too long ago that there was the esports shitstorm about women in esports in South Korea.
The fun part is, it only targets mtf transgender people as opposed to ftm. Their argument pretty much seems to be -real girls can't play games
This is utterly ridiculous. Someone's sexuality or gender has no influence on their ability to play video games.
And there are arguments and concerns from other participants who disputes that Lesbian, Gay, Transgendered Women members may probably have some unfair advantage.
Oh man, I can't wait to hear arguments for this.
The fun part is, it only targets mtf transgender people as opposed to ftm. Their argument pretty much seems to be -real girls can't play games
If I remember right, being a male homosexual is still technically illegal in singapore too.
Transgendered Women members may probably have some unfair advantage.

may probably have some unfair advantage.
What does this even mean?
Oh man, I can't wait to hear arguments for this.
Are they afraid that the players will be confused and so can't stay focused on the game itself? Lesbians make players confused because their manliness won't work on them, gays will make them confused because they don't know how to react to being hit on, and transwomen make them confused because they don't know what gender pronouns to use?
Lets hope Riot Games goes "Remove that rule or you aren't allowed to host LoL tournaments."
This is utterly ridiculous. Someone's sexuality or gender has no influence on their ability to play video games.
They somehow feel like this will make their esports more legitimate because real sports have gender separate competition as well. If you ask me it only makes them ever more ridiculous and laughable.
They somehow feel like this will make their esports more legitimate because real sports have gender separate competition as well. If you ask me it only makes them ever more ridiculous and laughable.
That's the excuse the south koreans used.
Remember, there are people who thought this was a good idea, no questions asked. I can't comprehend what it must be like to be so simple minded.
Holy shit am I glad I'm not trying to do League e-sports.
Oh man, I can't wait to hear arguments for this.
shit they discovered the secret gay power
Lets hope Riot Games goes "Remove that rule or you aren't allowed to host LoL tournaments."
You're funny. Riot only cares about profits off a stupid MOBA.
They somehow feel like this will make their esports more legitimate because real sports have gender separate competition as well. If you ask me it only makes them ever more ridiculous and laughable.
I'd say it's more likely that gender-segregated esports exist because there's still a lot of sexism in the video game community and it's basically the only way women are going to be able to play in a tournament right now. These rules regarding gay and transgender players are just fucked though.
im gay and my sixes team is full of homosexuals. Can confirm for unfair advantage. but seriously what does this have to do with anything? Its kind of messed up
even if i tried really really hard i couldn't see the advantage of a team full of gay people or whatever. i'm curious to what the actual reasoning behind that argument is.
What does this even mean?
Well uh... Imagine if xPeke kissed with Cyanide mid-match, I'd completely lose my focus and probably lose the game. 1:20 If there were only 1 homosexual male then no kissing would happen, only my dirty fantasies with dat beast
even if i tried really really hard i couldn't see the advantage of a team full of gay people or whatever. i'm curious to what the actual reasoning behind that argument is.
Here's my guess: being lesbian or transgender somehow makes a woman more masculine, and therefore she's somehow better at video games
What about a lesbian transwomen? do they have double super powers? are their powers so great they are practically Q?
I can only speak for Counter Strike but I truly believe men and women are not equal in that arena. Any kind of twitch FPS game with fast reaction times it seems women just hit a ceiling. That's interesting with MtF trans because of that aspect. Don't know if it has to do with the wiring of the brain or what scientifically.
What about a lesbian transwomen? do they have double super powers? are their powers so great they are practically Q?
yeah i can confirm we're objectively supreme at video games, this ban makes perfect sense
only my superior male brain can handle the complex gameplay of counter strike
What does this even mean?
They're basically saying that genetical men are better at playing games than genetical women.
Why the fuck is there even a distinction between male and female teams, this makes no sense. Like I could understand where they're coming from if this was about physical sports, because mtf transgenders still have a male body so you could argue that it would be unfair. But what difference does it make when playing fucking video games? Also what does being gay or lesbian has to do with this at all?
garena LoL is the weirdest League region in the entire world. they're barely affiliated with Riot and it's considered as having one of the worst playerbases in LoL. basically nobody reads the player reports so nobody actually gets banned, leaving a playerbase consisted of trolls. they were also behind on updates before Riot had to step in and get their shit together. and then there's the fact that it's a SEA server so it's usually 100% dogshit. anyways, kotaku is going to eat this shit up lmao.

Who would want to play in a Garena tournament after this, fucking nobody.
What? i re-itterate.... what? also how are they going to prove someone's a homosexual?
