Twelve years ago the space liner Geshtinanna unexpectedly lost all communications with its owners, Blue Meteor Line at the furthest point between fueling stations. It was never heard from again. The reasons for its disappearance have remained a mystery, the surrounding area having been deemed uninhabited, and entirely safe for travel and no trace of the ship ever being found in the surrounding space.
Weeks away from the Geshtinanna's route, a lone planet orbits a young star. Just below it's surface; what remains of the grand liner embedded into the ground with sheer speed of impact. Nothing grows around the wreckage, for miles around the forest has died and nothing replaced it.
The only life in the area sat dormant in the ship's medical bay. The reason for the crash. A powerful, mysterious being left without food for over a decade.

I've been meaning to do one of these for a while, both the farm and the army. Another being posted gave me the urge to do it now.

An old mountain goat hobbles towards the cave in search of food.
The creature senses its approach and begins to focus its remaining energy into finding the approaching animal.
This is looking like it has potential.

The goat ventures into the wreckage, drawn by the faint smell of food lingering in the corners of the restaurant.
The creature has located its first meal in years. It extends two long tentacles down to the helpless animal below.

The tentacles grab the goat. It bleets feebly as the consumption begins.

The tentacles pull the goat up to the creature's mass and silence it, crushing it into a bloody cocoon. The feeding mass feels stronger as it consumes the goat and reaches out, grabbing several objects in the room and coating the walls in a wet skin.

The infected objects split from the creature's mass having formed into biological copies and venture towards the light.
The goat inside the cocoon, sucked dry, is undergoing a similar process.
In the barren wasteland outside, a family exiled from their distant village seeking shelter notice the wreck from afar and approach, certain they saw a goat heading the same way earlier.

The family approaches the wreck, the father venturing into the dim metal corridors in awe - he had never seen something so enormous and unnatural in his life.
The creature begins to envelop the large statue while the objects lie in wait above the mother and child.

The man notices the blood on the wall and touches it, it's still warm. Maybe the goat is injured, that would make it much easier to capture.

The creeping sign prepares to strike the waiting child while a ghastly form takes shape below the creature.

The creeping sign swings down to the child and impales him on one tentacle. The boy's mother runs screaming into the wreckage.
The man turns, only to be faced with something like a goat - only completely made from a disgusting raw pink flesh. It seems to be grinning at him.

The sign latches itself onto the near-dead child's back and twists it into a lumbering hunchback of a monster.
The child's mother flees into the ship but is caught by lowering tentacles from the lift shaft, which begin to slowly lift her towards the infected lift.
The 'goat' charges the man, slicing open his body and sending him flailing back into the cave.
And all this from the life source of one unfortunate goat.
Worst part is, the mother is still alive. The child died, the father is dying right now, but the mother is being mutated alive.

The statue begins to move and split apart.
