Right now I have a 500GB and a 250GB, and I'm running out of space fast.
I'm looking for a 1TB+ hard drive that is under $100.
I saw this 1.5TB on Newegg for $80:

Or this 2TB for $100:

Between 5900RPM and 7200RPM...I'm not sure how much slower the 2TB will be.
Any suggestions?
5900 is kinda slow nowadays, isn't it?

500GB less than the first one I posted, and only $10 less?
How do you know how fast it is? They are both 7200RPM.
Spinpoint F3.
Don't question it, everyone and I mean everyone is going to recommend you to the F3.
Why would I not question it? A 1.5TB for $80 seems better than a 1TB for $70. Even if it's a bit slower.
Stay well away from the 1.5TB 7200.11 - it is very well known for its failure rate. Even ones that work (I got lucky with mine) have huge numbers of bad sectors and terrible SMART scores.

Welcome to 2010, where performance matters more than the capacity.
Spinpoint F3.
I have 3 drives in my computer.
Two of them are Spinpoint F3's, both 1 terabyte drivers.
They're the fastest drives I have ever used, if you don't include any of the SSDs I have tried.
What if I didn't want to use it as a main hard drive? I just need it for general usage and storage.
Hm... I might have to get the F3. The reviews are way better.
Spinpoint F3!
The F3 is faster. I do think that WD is more reliable in the long run.
