GFWL lives on, according to the Halo Community Manager. [t]http://puu.sh/9hJge/3ad9580102.png[/t] https://twitter.com/Brav/status/474374422262845440 This could just mean that Halo 2 PC's multiplayer isn't going to be shut down, or it could mean something horrible.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Oh isn't that nice of them to readjust the needles going through our bodies so they don't fall off and stop hurting us...
Games for windows live 2: electric boogaloo
Guessing it's just on life support so people don't freak the fuck out and are sad forever.

I hope all those developers patch it back in again
:pwn: a very abstract post
It's like saying "hey, we noticed this thing torturing you isn't working too well and is almost stopping, so we came back and we're fixing it to keep torturing you for more years to come!"
I think it is just since SOME games still use GFWL, they decide to just keep it 'alive' least i hope
It means we'll at least still have GTA 4 online since Rockstar is seemingly never releasing V on PC
It also partially shoots down the rumor of the Halo bundle (which hasn't even confirmed for the Xbone from the original rumor) coming to Steam.
See this is why you use silver bullets.
This is why you use .45 if you're going for a headshot.
It also partially shoots down the rumor of the Halo bundle (which hasn't even confirmed for the Xbone from the original rumor) coming to Steam.
It could still happen, Dead Rising 3 is coming to steam, originally an Xbone Exclusive and it doesn't use GFWL like DR2/DR2 OTR does. You can tell on the front page, steam achievements, steam leaderboard, steam cloud, etc.
FUEL's been given a reprieve, yay. Its issues were many, but exploring the world was fun. It's a shame there wasn't a sequel that could design around those issues and build on the lessons learned.
It was never confirmed to die, only rumored following an accidental, quickly-removed press report about Age of Empires.
Its not getting closed down but it isn't going to be appearing in new games either. Steamworks is so much better.
It was all just a ruse to shake off the devs that could switch to alternatives so Microsoft could reduce GFWL server costs. *adjusts tinfoil hat*

So you have to log into Steam AND Live in order to play, and the first time I started it up I had to download 15 fucking updates for Live just to even START to play, which required me to start the game and shut it down every fucking time. Gotta make doubly sure them fuckin' kids ain't stealin our vidja gaems.
April Fools?

Not having the dongle plugged in completely prevents you from playing your game. Yep...this stuff exists

Oh, so that's why bulletstorm came back to steam with GFWL still in
No one needs this piece of shit service. Microsoft just doesn't give a fuck about it. I remember how the german store in 2010 still had games from 2007 being showcased. They just don't give a fuck. No one needs it. Steam is good. Origin is okay too, even Uplay is better than this shit.

I'm actually kinda happy. Because games that were never going to have gfwl removed will get to keep living.
It wasn't confirmed in the first place that it was going away. It was just a rumour that for some reason everyone believed, even developers.
It wasn't confirmed in the first place that it was going away. It was just a rumour that for some reason everyone believed, even developers.
It's wishful thinking really.
It wasn't confirmed in the first place that it was going away. Sometimes I still tell myself that rumor and believe it a little just to make myself feel better.
See this is why you use silver bullets.
and then cut off the head and burn the remains then throw whatever ash you have left after that into an active volcano

Put it out of it's (and our) misery already. I've had nothing but bullshit from this "service".
