Right now Im using speedfan to see how hot my shit is, And currently my AUX Is about 90C!! How do I change my fan speeds? any good programs to do it? I have a ati card if that helps. It was fine yesterday. HELP!
p.s. its crashing alot too because of it!
Get better cooling, also, I think you can change fan speeds with SpeedFan.
In Hardware Monitor, if Aux is being read from an unassigned input, then just ignore it. In SpeedFan, Aux can simply be disabled, and therefore ignored. My Aux temperature is currently 17c, which isn't possible, since ambient is 25c. I've seen it vary from -19c to 127c, which means it's an unassigned input from the super I/O (Input/Output) chip on the motherboard. It's a common anomoly.
Are there any good programs that can accurately tell me the temperature?
Also I am 100% certain it is hot right now because my computer crashes when I try to do anything that heats it up.

Right now I am going to try "HWMONITOR" Ill post a screenie of what it says.
Well sometimes it helps to go into the BIOS and lower voltages by 0.1 increments until your parts are still running stable. Undervolting your hardware can not only make it last longer, but lower your temps dramatically. It's worth a shot, but I'm betting a heatsink came loose or something. Try a BIOS update to see if it helps.

How would I go about doing that?

right now im on my brothers computer, seeing how my computer just crashed.. AGAIN! Is there any way I could cool it down? like... open it up and put a fan there or something? move it to a better place? anything guys cmon.
Firstly will give you knowledge about AUXTIN. AUXTIN (w83627dhg pin102), the input of temperature sensor 3. It is always used for temperature sensing. On board, it used for auxiliary zone temp sensor, my knowledge says, its placed either near OPT_TEMP2 2-pin header which is near SATA ports or otherwise its placed near the Winbond W83627DHG Super IO chip which is close to PCI-E #3 slot (farthest blue slot from CPU). And what you getting is a bogus sensor unconnected to anything. Just ignore it.
Found this on another forum. Everyone is saying to ignore it. The rest of your temps seem fine.
Found this on another forum. Everyone is saying to ignore it. The rest of your temps seem fine.
Why in gods name is my computer crashing then? I remember this happening a year ago on my old computer.
[editline]3rd February 2011[/editline]
It can run for a while when im just browing the net. and about 1 min when I play games.

I also tryed opening it up, I think its the graphics card actually. Because when I touched it, it was quite warm.

Are you going to help me or not? ._.
It's probably your motherboard sensor not working right. Mine perpetually says "105 C"... It's because there's not a sensor for it, so it automatically outputs the highest or lowest number a sensor would be designed to register
you're safe

If you're crashing it's due to unrelated issues
If you're crashing it's due to unrelated issues
But there's practically no explanation for it besides something is overheated in my computer. This happened a year old with my old computer, exact same symptoms, and season (summer). It was fine yesterday night. I was watching some hdstarcraft like I always do, went to bed, Woke up and bam, Crashing started.
[editline]3rd February 2011[/editline]
you guys are probably right with the "its false dont believe it" Posts. What I need to know now is how do I stop it from crashing? Your telling me the problem, not the solution. Mabye its shutting it down because the "emergency shutdown procedure" is getting information that says its overheated (when its probably not).
p.s. this is just what I think is going on.
Your CPU temps are a little high for idle, so possibly it is overheating? Clean it out and check the thermal grease perhaps?
It's the only explanation I can think of considering the i5 series have the shittiest stock heatsink ever.
Idle temps are a little high, yeah
If you haven't before, turn the machine off @ dust the insides w/ compressed air
trying that now

Tried running my computer again, Ran for a bit (about 10-15 minutes) then crashed. :(

Monitor your temps on the CPU while it's running and see if they are continuously rising.
Monitor your temps on the CPU while it's running and see if they are continuously rising.
when its on it averages at about 40-50; doesn't go above that
Hmmm, okay are you BSOD?

That would only look like that if he was running Windows 95 or 98...
Kay, we need what it says on there because that can tell us something.
-Snip late-
When it crashes it just shuts off, no warning or anything
Hmmmm...try taking out one thing of RAM
Hmmmm...try taking out one thing of RAM
What would that do? I dont think I want to do that
So in other words you have no idea how the inside of the computer works?
I don't know what to tell ya
