Oh SHIT they're really upping the ante with this one.
Has TF2 actually had a content update recently? I haven't seen one in a long while.

In the works since like, last year. The hopes are hitting all new kinds of low these days.

Maybe TF2's complete?
Maybe TF2's complete?
Yeah, completely broken.
Still haven't patched countless bugs and server lagging issues that have only showed up since their last big update. Makes the game unplayable.
Amazing.
Well that toke them long.

Just needs to change the name to Team Fortress Global Offensive.
I'm looking at the balance changes on page two, and some of them are really strange to me.
While invisible, Spy receives 20% less damage from all damage sources
Enforcer: Changed +20% damage bonus while undisguised to +20% damage bonus while disguised
So all watches are pretty much dead ringer while invisible now? Enforcer is also shit now I guess. At least dead ringer is changed around a bit. Now spy is fuckin tanky while invisible, but it sounds like you can't use it as often anymore.
I'm still trying to parse engineer changes.
I hear lock n load does 20% extra damage to buildings only, now.
I hear lock n load does 20% extra damage to buildings only, now.
what why
what why
Because it was OP now it's only a crutch.

Mini Sentries can now be repaired
Holy fuck.
They turned minis into level 1s it seems.
Can't say I understand the logic but we'll see.
It seems mini sentries build slower and have half health while building now. Less aggressive, bit more defensive it seems. They probably still do half damage, but being able to repair them is kinda neat. Makes it so rescue ranger isn't completely useless with gunslinger.
Wrangled sentries are harder to heal/resupply. An overall nerf which makes sentry nests less viable. I don't really see a use for wrangler anymore.
Eureka Effect has had a really nice buff, which instead reduces the build-speed bonus when hit with a wrench, at a cost of less metal collected while using. This is SO much better than before where it took 19 fucking hits to upgrade a goddamn building only to get sapped by a red-rape-recorder. God damn that was annoying. I think I'll be using this teleporter wrench a LOT more, now.
Black box was sorta nerfed, where if you get only splash damage, you get less health returned. Direct hits will yield more health return though, but at a maximum of 20.

So this update might be pretty cool after all. I read all of the balance changes, and they are mostly pretty good. They really mix up the game, which might be exactly what the game needed.
Even if the weapon skins are not your thing, these balance changes fix a lot of problems with the game, and make a lot more weapons more viable. Heavy has had a pretty decent buff all-around, and some of the sniper rifles are going to be seeing a lot more use. Spy dead ringer is going to be a lot less in-your-face, while still keeping the self-preservation, and a lot of the other crutch weapons such as black box and lock n load have been changed so they aren't straight upgrades anymore.
I still have to form a more concrete opinion by trying it all out myself, but this update might grant a breath of fresh air that the game really needed. I mean seriously, instead of just adding in more weapons on top of a pile of broken ones, they buckled down and fixed a lot of the existing weapons to be a lot more fair! Pretty cool!
Holy shit the weapon camos are ugly as sin. They should have rolled an update like this years ago. Are maps still being made frequently enough for this to be a regular thing?
