[release]During a Fox News segment today, anchor Shep Smith tossed to a live shot of a vigil for critically wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, and several seconds into it, as one mourner said “…and I say to you, Sarah Palin…” then cut to a commercial. Sarah Palin, a Fox News contributor, has come under fire in the early aftermath of this mass shooting, as some are connecting it with her “crosshairs” ad from earlier this year.
With so little known at this time, cooler heads are resisting making political hay out of this shooting, but the coincidence of Giffords’ shooting, her placement on Palin’s “crosshairs” map, and Giffords’ own comments about that map have combined to make Palin an early scapegoat, particularly on the left.
Here’s the video, from Fox News:

Gotta love that quality Fox News reporting.
Fair and Balanced, my ass.
this title makes no sense :psyduck:
Fox News is a piece of s-
and now a word from our sponsors.
What a surprise.
Way to fast after he said it that it cut out.
I really don't think it was on purpose to be honest.
Fox news is so unbiased :allears:
Is there any proof the shooter was politically motivated and that this map had anything to do with it? I haven't heard anything like that yet.

Considering how much Palin is being brought up in relation to the shooting Fox could easily have had been ready to cut away at the first mention of her by the speaker.
But honestly, I'm not really sure if this was motivated by Palin. It would be very easy to assume it, and for all we know he was, but isn't he deranged?
And stupid people all over the US will still watch Fox News because they don't care about news, they just want to hear how atheists and communists are making baby Jebus cry.
Broadcast delay?
Probably. But I still doubt it was intentional.
As if you guys expected any better.
I'd honestly be surprised if they actually let a single liberal elaborate on a single point. Every interview I see with fox is just some extremely opinionated fox talk-show host spewing out some unintelligible garbage and not letting the guest finish a single sentence.

He was schizophrenic, it could have been reasons ranging from political to being told by ghost of his cat.

Did you know that fox news is secretly bringing wholesome family entertainment to people around the world?

This article really reminds me of the news broadcasts from Starcraft II.

Now it's not a secret anymore. I was relishing in the fact that I was one of the few who knew.
He was schizophrenic, it could have been reasons ranging from political to being told by ghost of his cat.
This is was I've believed. I just read an article saying it was most likely politically motivated, but even so I don't think Palin is the cause, rather he just targeted the closest democrat he could find.
Hahaha if this guy want to be a total dick and a very successful troll he should say that Palin made him do it.
I don't think it matters if it was Palin's map that set him off or not. Mentally unstable people can be set off by anything, and we shouldn't have to cater our society on not setting off unstable people.
99.99999999999% of people aren't going to see crosshairs on a map and then start thinking about shooting people.
I know when I see crosshairs I think about hugging people.
And when I hear about reloading and crosshairs, I think of candy :v:

I'm generally going to agree with that point, but to think that crosshairs and firearm metaphors DON'T inspire ridiculous thought is.. silly?
Sarah Palin should have realized there are quite a few fuckers in the Tea Party who are not the smartest and most reasonable people alive.
Ergo she should have known using gun metaphors and aiming gun sights on your rivals might not end well.

You should have seen the guys Myspace page before it was pulled down.

What is "funny" is when that one guy shot up that military base, Fox and friends were all saying how it was Islam's fault. That this guy couldn't just be a nutbag, it has to be a far larger conspiracy.
Now we got an assassination attempt on a democratic congresswoman. I want to see how Fox paints that picture.

I personally never saw his Myspace, but I saw his YouTube.
He had like 4 videos, and they were all batshit insane ramblings which no sense or reason to be deciphered from them.
To me he seems like just another nutjob with a gun.

We're talking about fox news.
FOX is a worldwide entertainment company, but fox news is a separate agency of FOX. We only have a problem with them.
"The shooter was Sarah Pa-!"
"Turn your unwanted gold into cash with Cash4Gold!"

The Nazis stole valuables from the Jews in concentration camps and sold them for profit. There's a connection here.
Haha, I remember that 'Crosshairs' deal Palin was on about earlier... Isn't inciting violence a crime? Throw her in a cell!
His favorite books include Plato's "The Republic" and "The Communist manifesto".
"Caiti Parker, who claimed she knew the suspect in high school four years earlier, described him as a politically radical loner who was left-wing or liberal at the time she knew him."
yeah, he was clearly related to the Tea Party.
What the fuck, facepunch, there's not a single thing tying him to Palin or the Tea Party. How is the OP any better than Fox News? He's a left wing radical who thought the government was mind controlling citizens. There is literally no connection to be made.
