Cars Land at Disney’s California Adventure will soon see a new experience as Luigi’s Flying Tires drives off into the sunset to be re-imagined as a new dancing car ride. The last day of operations for Luigi’s Flying Tires will be February 16 and we will see the new, yet to be named, ride open in early 2016. The Disney Parks Blog just released some new artwork showcasing the new Cars Land ride that will feature both a new ride system and ride vehicles in that same great 1950-style.
Luigi's Flying Tires always seemed like a filler attraction to me in the vein of Tommorowland's Flying Saucers, so this isn't really surprising that it is closing so soon.
It's like a slower version of bumper cars plus bad handling.
It rarely had anyone on it whenever I went.
That ride sucked anyways.

Yeah, for the best honestly. It SOUNDS like a cool idea, riding along in little personal hovercrafts.
But you don't have any CONTROL over them, and they just sorta drift as they please. The most exciting thing they'll do is maybe bump into other people's cars, but it really is amazingly lame, and not worth the line that's always in front of it.

Looks like bumper-boats but on land and with no risk of being splashed.
The day it opened this guy got hit in the face so bad that he tried fighting the other guy who nailed him.
