I want a Witcher movie by the team that made this.
If games had feelings, the new Assassins Creed would feel ashamed stood next to this charming well loved and made game.
Did he poison his own blood?

That is AWESOME. Didn't realize it was CGI until I saw the girls face.
Also, I've never played any of the Witcher games. This makes me want to. Do I have to play the first two to understand the third, or can I play them separately? I heard bad things about Witcher 2 and I dunno how lengthy the games are.
You don't have to get a license to drive a car, but you can still attempt to drive it.
The point: the entire Witcher universe is extremely lore heavy. There is a series of series of books even that addresses the backstory. Although like movies the games themselves have self contained story, but all of the games are a part of a large story and contain several large political forces all battling each other. Each game is around 50 hours long if 100% completion is sought after.
The first game is comfy but criticized for its gameplay. The second one has a more 1v1 gameplay style but leads you to mostly fighting humans instead of monsters. An official mod made by the game's developers also vastly improves the combat and adds in new features and animations, while also rebalancing the game to make it more fun.

He injected curry powder.

The third will probably have a cinematic to bring you up to speed, but I believe Witcher 2 can be played through at least twice before it becomes a little blande. The first time I beat it, Witcher 2 clocked in around 40 hours.
I love how realistic cgi is getting now.

I've heard from multiple quotes said from the devs that no you do not need to play the witcher 1 or 2. Playing them would probably get you a better feeling of the world and atmosphere, but the witcher 3 wild hunt is it's own story arc. There are probably some things that are tied back to the older games, but nothing that will impair your enjoyment or make you confused

But if you wish to understand what and why, knowledge from previous games will come in very handy.
Wow, git gud Geralt.
Very nice looking cinematic, interesting change to see the main hero win but only so close.

Geralt's keen to tell me "I'm getting to old for this" all the time during my Witcher 2 run. I also liked the way it shows how witchers have to prepare for the monsters they face; the whole cinematic feel of this trailer is just top notch
Man Geralt looks a lot like a white haired Triple H in this.
My mom came in my room asking me something and she immediately turned around and ran out screaming in terror when she saw my 15 inch erection after watching this video. Thanks CDPR.
As someone who hasn't played the Witcher games, should I play them before I play this, or can I get will I lose out much if I jump straight into this game
edit: Okay from what I gather W2 is worth a play through but not necessary for main story
So fucking hyped for my collectors edition pre order

Lets just say if you at least start with the witcher 2 you will probably have a much more profound taste for the world and lore present in the game. Which will probably lead you to enjoying the third game much more; I know I'm gonna enjoy that with the witcher 3, and now that I care for geralt as a character considerably more from playing just the second game

You can if you want, and as a bonus you can import your save from the Witcher 2 into the 3rd game.
However, devs have said it's not necessary at all to play the previous games to understand what is going on in the third game.

I'd say its worth trying at least 2 before 3, 1 is a little rough but if you don't mind that you can give it a shot.
Also bear in mind each game is like 40 hours long.
I would highly recommend just buying the Witcher 2(its only 3 fucking dollars on steam) and playing through it this weekend with the Combat Rebalance mod if you want to get into the Witcher 3. No, you don't absolutely need to, but unlike other games like Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, Dragon Age etc, the Witcher series relies a lot on references to the past and choices you made previously in games. It will be a lot more enjoyable having experience in at least the Witcher 2.
Right, time to blast through number 2 one more time, feel bad i'm going to have to buy this on PS4 though......as my pc probably won't run it.
Holy shit that felt really...different than most CGI.
Loved it.
The music in the Witcher games has always been fucking amazing.
Gotta admit though, the CG trailer for the first witcher wasnt half bad looking considering how old it was as well as a budget of a packet of peanuts and a half smoked cigarette. Also damn Geralt looked so young and a hell of a lot more cocky when fighting.

They managed to surpass TW2's intro and that is quite the achievement.
Full length film when?
So why wouldn't a Witcher take that contract in 'days past'? Is it because of moral reasons, like all she's doing is killing to sustain herself, or because it's way too dangerous?
She's an Alp (I think) but the Wiki page for them doesn't really give any hints.

She's either that or a bruxa and usually Witchers (at least Geralt) don't kill sentient creatures.
By the way, this trailer was created by Digic Pictures (Who are known for their Assassins Creed cinematic trailers) not Platige Image that did all previous CGI trailers.. Not like that matters much, just saying.
