• Buying Amp For My Birthday

my birthday is coming up and i have been playing guitar for a year with a crappy Fender SP-10 Amp. I have since started a punk band and im looking for a bigger amp. Brand new ones are way too high in price for my parents so i found this on craigslist: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/msg/1445854684.html My dad says he doesn't want to buy anything used because it doesn't have a warranty. How can i convince him to buy me this? And if i can't convince him, what is a cheap amp with decent wattage?
Used amps are perfectly fine, I've never heard of this one though. How much money you have at the moment and how much gain you need(music genres)? There might be better alternatives for the price.
i have no money, my dad is paying for it.
I meant how high in price can you go? So I could suggest something. Though you'll need at least 200$ to get something which sounds good and is loud enough for a band. Otherwise just save up or go with what's available.
Lets think here. An 88 watt solid state amp, for the equivalent of 40 british pounds. Dude, that is total horseshit, i don't think ive ever even heard of hohner. Go onto ebay and search marshall valvestate, you can normally get really good prices for what is a pretty good amp, pretty sure chuck shculdiner used valvestates.
I think I've heard a Hohner before, and remember it being pretty good.
You don't really need anything above 50 watts.
Even for electric guitar, a bass guitar amp would do good. Gives it a very nice clean tone, and with a distortion pedal can make a good metal/rock sound. I think there are some pretty cheap ones that can get a good sound that are maybe a couple hundred $'s.
