And, in a recent interview, the developer of the game confirmed that there will be plenty of new features to look forward to. While it was said to be one of the most important exclusives for the Microsoft console, things changed after the release and it didn’t perform to the level that they expected. This will not be the only game that is going to be coming to PC, but another Microsoft exclusive Ryse is also coming to Windows machines, featuring 4K resolution. Such things may not happen immediately, or in the near future for Playstation 4 exclusives, because the console has been going strong; but given the changing architecture of all games which are more Windows friendly, this concept of exclusivity might soon diminish, according to industry experts. The developer of Dead Rising 3 was happy to share that they are not going to bring the same game to PCs, but rather going to implement a whole lot of new features, including increased graphic fidelity, additional downloadable content, full support for mod and steam integration that is going to make it appealing to a wide audience. Got to love back pedaling
Got to love back pedaling
what backpedaling? the only time they said they were going to make the game 30 fps was at the intiial announcement, and ever since then developers have been testing unlocked fps and posting videos on the steam forums. this is the official announcement that it'll be allowed to be unlocked.
Got to love back pedaling
Company announces bad thing. 'worst company ever' Company listens to public criticism and fixes bad thing before product is even released. 'backpedaling, still worst company ever' Really? I guess some people will bend over backwards to hate a company for totally bullshit reasons. A developer listening to public outcry and accommodating complaints, especially when they do it before release and not as a response to poor sales, is something that should be praised. Would you rather they'd have stuck with it and called it 'artistic vision'?
Who said I even hated them? just love how they go THIS GAME WON'T RUN AT 60FPS STABLEY then we all bitch about it, then they fix it, come on, really, we shouldn't have to bitch about the game at all.
60fps is retardedly overrated anyways.
lol http://www.testufo.com/#test=framerates (especially if you have a 60Hz+ monitor) http://30vs60.com/ too
60fps is retardedly overrated anyways.
No, its not, its hard to play something like quake or xonotic at 30fps, maybe Dead Rising could get away with it, but it still feels sluggish.
60fps feels really weird to me, its almost that its too smooth. Maybe its because Ive played around 20fps my entire life and got used to it. Whats with the dumb ratings? Am I not allowed to have an opinion?
60 fps is amazing, and silky smooth.
60fps is retardedly overrated anyways.
if you're blind sure
60fps is retardedly overrated anyways.
No it's not? Saying something is overrated usually means that it has negative qualities that nobody is seeing. What possible downsides are there to a smoother FPS? And yes, people can tell the difference.

They claimed they haven't tested it at all with the lock removed and there might be bugs that pop up, so they left the lock on but allowed you to remove it at your own discretion since they didn't know what would happen.
I feel sorry for you, that sounds horrible.
It's better than not playing anything.
60 fps is amazing, and silky smooth.
Just wait until you try 120fps. I didn't think it would be worth it until i tried it, now i will actually lower my settings to keep a game at 120fps because it just looks so much better.
I'm so used to silky smooth 60fps now, that 30fps feels like a slideshow.
I'm so used to silky smooth 60fps now, that 30fps feels like a slideshow.
I locked a racing game at 30FPS (Assetto Corsa). Jesus, fucking, Christ. I had to stop playing, I was getting motion sickness from the disconnect between the controller and the game.

now that it has mod support, ill definitely look into getting it. I love mods.
I've avoided upgrading to 120hz because I'm scared I'll get really used to 120hz and then 60hz will look like a slideshow and my wallet will get raped from the need to run at 120fps
I'm not even lying this is why 60 fps is pretty smooth and I don't want to hate using non-120 Hz monitors forever once I've been enlightened
No it's not? Saying something is overrated usually means that it has negative qualities that nobody is seeing. What possible downsides are there to a smoother FPS? And yes, people can tell the difference.
Overrated means people consider it more important than it really is. And in the case of framerate, I tend to agree. And I think the majority of gamers do too, because when given the choice between a game looking like crap at 60fps or good at 30-40, most people seem to choose the better visuals. It's easy to remember games that looked great but had poor performance (Crysis, for example), but I can't think of any that were remembered for smooth performance but mediocre visuals. Not to mention the success of consoles seems to indicate that there's a considerable gamer population that simply doesn't care. I don't get why people seem to interpret '60 fps is overrated' as 'I see no benefits to 60fps'. Of course there are benefits, and of course everyone can tell the difference visually. But it's not the be-all and end-all of graphics and when sacrifices have to be made, a smooth framerate is usually the first thing to go.
Except 60 FPS is a staple of the best selling series, Call of Duty, and defines it's feel and responsiveness So yeah, gamers notice

It might not be 100%, we don't know right now." [editline]17th August 2014[/editline]
Whats with the dumb ratings? Am I not allowed to have an opinion?
Are we not?
i'm so used to 60fps that seeing something in 60fps doesn't feel like 60fps anymore, if anyone even knows what i mean. like, sometimes i have to turn on an fps counter or something to make sure a game is actually running at 60fps, when it already is. [sp]i'd like to add on that i've never seen anything in 120fps[/sp]
They were more like "The engine was designed for 30 FPS, but you can unlock it if you want. It might not be 100%, we don't know right now."
wasn't it that Dead Rising's physics calculations were reliant on the game staying at 30fps, that made them so unsure of what would happen with the fps being uncapped?
60fps feels really weird to me, its almost that its too smooth. Maybe its because Ive played around 20fps my entire life and got used to it. Whats with the dumb ratings? Am I not allowed to have an opinion?
Its not even an opinion, 60 is just a direct upgrade, there is literally no downside over 30, it is simply better
Who said I even hated them? just love how they go THIS GAME WON'T RUN AT 60FPS STABLEY then we all bitch about it, then they fix it, come on, really, we shouldn't have to bitch about the game at all.
... Because the game wouldn't have been stable. When you uncap the framerate in a game set for 30 the physics get hella' garbo. Now they've put some extra work into it so it'll run squeaky clean. I'm glad it got fixed, not mad that it wasn't during testing.
Its not even an opinion, 60 is just a direct upgrade, there is literally no downside over 30, it is simply better
saying it's better is the opinion, saying it's smoother/faster/etc would be factual. he didn't like it because it was too smooth.
Haha 60 FPS peasants. 120 FPS/120 Hz master race.
I'm so used to silky smooth 60fps now, that 30fps feels like a slideshow.
Doom was made to run at 35FPS, but after using GZDoom for so long, playing Doom Classic Complete on PS3 is just a pain because it is capped at 35FPS, but it's a terrible port that frequently drops to 10FPS.
60fps feels really weird to me, its almost that its too smooth. Maybe its because Ive played around 20fps my entire life and got used to it. Whats with the dumb ratings? Am I not allowed to have an opinion?
Don't worry i get what you mean, i had a barely capable pc for a while due to money troubles, i got so used to the low fps i was getting in games that when i eventually upgraded it, around the time saints row 4 came out, everything looked so fluid and smooth that just running around watching my character moving was enjoyable for the first hour i was playing that game.
