Hello, Im looking to build a cheap but powerful (As much as I can for £400) Gaming PC. I already have a SSD and HDD's plus a GTX 660TI so all im looking for really is the rest of the build for no more than £400. If needed it could go a little over but not much. Thanks all. [editline]9th December 2013[/editline] Also forgot to add that I have an OS so dont need to factor that in the cost.
Made a quick build, could always swap out the case for a more preffered one, just chucked in a cheapish one. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2hyPC Although this is a pre-built and probably comes with some random branded RAM, saw this deal pop up today http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/barebones/bb-546708.html

Thanks for the quick build. It seems the i5 is quite recomended then.

Not worth an extra £80-£100. The only thing wrong with that build is its still using the stock cooler, which wont work if your planning on overclocking (it can also make a bit of noise when playing certain games like BF4). Seeing as its the christmas period there are a large number of deals on, i would keep an eye on these 3 sites; - http://www.novatech.co.uk/christmas2013.html - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/LP/calendar2013.php - http://www.dabs.com/articles/promotionsandpressreleases/products/christmas-advent-calendar-2013-11908.html The processor is fairly common, so there is a good chance of it popping up somewhere.

Here's something that's a bit cheaper for the same performance: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2iIwb
What graphics car did you choose with that barebones build would this one work? If you also plan on buying this build with a seperate graphics card, I suggest a R9 270X or R9 270 if that isn't within your budget. The 660 TI is now way overpriced unless you are willing to buy refurbished/used. Also commas are your friend.

If you could find a graphics card to add to that build I would be very grateful.

Benchmarks: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/854?vs=770 (the R9 280X is a slightly faster by a one or two fps card than the 7970).
