PLANO, Texas (CNN/KTVT) – A traffic stop in Plano, Texas ended unlike any you’ve ever heard about before. It started when Hayden Carlo was pulled over for an expired registration sticker. According to KTVT, Carlo says he’s been struggling to support his wife and two small children. “You get paid, pay your bills, and there’s your money,” Carlo said. “It’s gone.” He told the officer he had no excuse for the expired sticker. “I said, ‘There’s no explanation for why I haven’t done it, except I don’t have the money,’” Carlo said. “I said, ‘It was either feed my kids or get my registration done.’” The officer wrote a citation and handed it to the 25-year-old. Carlo says when he took it, he could not believe what he saw: a $100 bill tucked into the ticket. “I broke down in my car,” Carlo said. ”What else could I do?” The officer never told anyone about the $100 gift. But Carlo’s grandfather, Billy McIntire, was so moved by the kind gesture he wrote a letter to the department. “I get emotional when we talk about this type of thing,” McIntire said. “You just don’t find that many officers who would do this type of thing.” While other officers around the country have recently been recognized for similar acts, this officer wants to remain anonymous. His coworkers plan to honor him anyway. “As he told me, this man needed it more than him, and it was the right thing to do,” said David Tilley, a fellow officer and department spokesperson. Carlo was able to update the registrations on his car and his wife’s car with the money. He’s now driving to a new job and providing for his growing family, after a gift from the last person he would have expected to help during tough times. “He helped me out when I needed it and I appreciate that,” Carlo said. “I’ll never forget that man. It definitely restored my faith in God.”
http://kdvr.com/2012/12/13/officer-wraps-100-bill-in-ticket-to-repenting-needy-driver/ and this is in texas, god damn
What a total bro.
I read that as the needy driver bribing the cop.
and this is in texas, god damn
Don't see what that's to do with anything, charity can happen anywhere there are people in need and people willing to be nice.
About time we get some good news this month. Good to know there's still some nice people out there.
Marxists have infiltrated the police force
Is it just me, or are we getting more news of cops being totally awesome than we are them sucking these days? A year back, everything was just police brutality. That seems to have changed.

“I’ll never forget that man. It definitely restored my faith in God.” Don't want to sound like /r/atheism here but for fucks sake, is it not enough to just thank the generous officer?
Is it just me, or are we getting more news of cops being totally awesome than we are them sucking these days? A year back, everything was just police brutality. That seems to have changed.
It's just that the only thing people wanted to hear about back then was police brutality. Around times like this (Christmas) news websites are going to report nice things instead of bad things so people can restore their faith in humanity or some bullshit like that.

It'll pass, the news operates in patterns like this all the time. [editline]16th December 2012[/editline] Just remember that this stuff happens even when it isn't widely reported on.

Piggy bank porked up plenty for the poor person. I'm glad.
and this is in texas, god damn
Implying that there are not kind people in Texas?
Perhaps he heard about the cop giving boots and socks to a homeless guy and thought he could step it up and become a legend :v:

It's hard to believe these acts of selflessness these days, but they always brighten up my face anyway. I like to see these heartwarming stories.
Is it just me, or are we getting more news of cops being totally awesome than we are them sucking these days? A year back, everything was just police brutality. That seems to have changed.
Generally speaking, cops aren't bad people. They're just people who get to see a lot of shit. It makes sense for them to sometimes really overreact. And when they do, a story about a cop overreacting tends to net more views than a story about a cop being a nice.
“I’ll never forget that man. It definitely restored my faith in God.” Don't want to sound like /r/atheism here but for fucks sake, is it not enough to just thank the generous officer?
Oh come on, even you should know, that when people say faith in god, they often mean faith in the goodness of man. For many people that believe both are one and the same.
Is it just me, or are we getting more news of cops being totally awesome than we are them sucking these days? A year back, everything was just police brutality. That seems to have changed.
Most police do their jobs normally, it would never make a good article if the news reported the police doing their jobs right.
Now, sue the cop for bribing! MAKE MILLIONS!
and this is in texas, god damn
I don't know about the rest of Texas, but the cops around where I live are actually pretty nice in pulling people over, and won't do it unless you really did fuck up. Even the state troopers are sometimes decent: I was pulled over on my way to Lubbock by one and while I was scared about what I did wrong, he just looked at the registration and inspection stickers. He walked back to the door and laughed, "I screwed up, thought that 3 was a 2." And that was the end of that. Sure, anecdotal evidence isn't much evidence, but this has pretty much been my overall experience with officers all my life. I have a great amount of respect for them due to it.
This is what i call police officer.
what? how does being in texas have anything to do with this? unless you just believe all texans are cruel and evil.
Texas born and raised, i can confirm everyone is cruel and evil.
