Bereavement is a 2010 American horror film starring Michael Biehn, Alexandra Daddario, and John Savage and Nolan Gerard Funk. It is the prequel to Mena's film Malevolence. In this movie, a child is abducted and forced to witness a madman's crimes. [/quote]

So the other night I got to see this at my local movie theatre and I have to say it was actually quite good. It was suspenseful, scary, the acting was great, and despite being low budget it was beautifully shot and came out looking better than many hollywood films.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the original film, Malevolence, its about a psychopathic serial killer named Martin Bristol who slaughters a group of bank robbers who are hiding out in his house with their hostages. In this prequel a young Martin is kidnapped by another psychopath named Graham Sutter who basically becomes his "mentor" and forces him to watch as he kidnaps and slaughters various people.
Now what was awesome about my showing was that the director Steve Mena, and many of the cast were actually sitting in the audience with us, and after the film the director did a Q/A and handed out free shit. It was all lots of fun and I managed to get a free poster signed by the director himself.
So right now this movie is only on a limited release in 20 theatres across the United States, but if there is one playing near you I highly recommend you go see it if you were a fan of slasher films, or even horror films in general.
