Well I've been invited to go and see Parkway Drive in April, but I'm not enitrely sure whether I want to go, I like the band a lot, and I think it would be pretty cool to go and see them live. However, it will only be the second concert I've ever been to, the first was Enter Shikari, which I went to two weeks ago, and that was pretty crazy, during the first song I spent the whole time doing nothing but trying to stay standing, and I still fell over, along with a bunch of other people, I lost a shoe and was grazed all over. So I moved further back into the crowd and it was all fine and great for the rest of the show.
I think that first bit left somewhat of a bad first impression, and Parkway Drive are alot heavier than Enter Shikari, and the people I'm going with are more the sort of people that want to go into the pits and get brutal so they'll obviously try and get me in the pits with them, so it won't exactly be a much calmer experience.
Now some people enjoy all the pits and getting pushed. But I don't really, I had a lot better time nearer the back of the crowd, I still jumped around, pushed a bit, whatever, but it wasn't such a constant struggle for control. It's not that I'm weak or anything, I'm 14 stone and 6'3". I just don't want it to be a bad experience. I think if I did go there's two things I could do, get to the very front, or get to the very back, since they're the places with the least pits. I don't want to seem like a wuss, I just don't enjoy the music while being pushed into a circle of people flailing their fists around as much as other people do.
Basically what I'm asking you FP, is do you think I should go? And if I do, can you give me some tips for staying in control and not becoming disorientated or falling over?

If you like Parkway Drive, go see them.
Try to get to the first row and just stay away from the mosh pits if you don't like them that much.

Yeah just go, especially if it's a fairly cheap ticket (30 dollars or less is what i'd call cheap)

yeah p. much what james said it's going to be a bunch of scenester teens and they shouldn't be a problem. the only thing is they don't know how to mosh, they think moshing is ruining the experience for everyone else by yelling and trying to kill other people.

Well enter shikari was 99% scene girls and boys that looked like scene girls, and that didn't go as I expected haha. Yeah I'm gonna go, anyone have any advice for when I'm in the pits?
I suggest you go mad and throw yourself around. Don't give a shit about how you look or whatever. Don't be an asshole though, you're there too have fun and so is everyone else.
