Los Angeles (CNN) -- Science fiction author Ray Bradbury, whose imagination yielded classic books such as "Fahrenheit 451," "The Martian Chronicles" and "Something Wicked This Way Comes," has died at 91, his publisher said Wednesday.
Bradbury "died peacefully, last night, in Los Angeles, after a lengthy illness," HarperCollins said in a written statement.
Bradbury's books and 600 short stories predicted a variety of things, including the emergence of ATMs and live broadcasts of fugitive car chases.
What a loss, his books are purely amazing. Rest in peace.
I have read at least half of his books in school. rest in peace.
I was just about to reread Fahrenheit 451, too...
It's sad I don't think I've read any of his books at all :eng99:

That's what I advised my friend to read today, then, few hours later, I hear this. It was almost surreal.
Just earlier today I was listening to Fuck Me, Ray Bradbury :smith:
RIP Ray, you helped me out in middle/highschool.
I'll never forget The Martian Chronicles, and that one hotdog stand man.
He is dead...
as well as the lessons written in his literature today
Fahrenheit 451 was brilliant, this guy was awesome. Up until a few weeks ago I thought he was already dead, shame he's dead now though.
Wow, there goes a legend.
Fahrenheit 451 was a really influential book for me.
Damn, I had just started reading one of his books.
Farenheit 451 was a great book.
RIP
What a loss. I think I'm going to read Fahrenheit 451 again in his honor.

Yeah, I feel kinda bad now for not knowing he was still alive. He was a living legend.
Wow, first Eduard Khill, then Richard Dawson, now Ray Bradbury.
I'm actually starting to believe that major celeberties die in threes.
I think I may be the only person who didnt care for Farenheit 451. Still RIP Ray Bradbury.
My girlfriend is actually pretty upset about this. She's read the same copy of Fahrenheit 451 about fifty times -- literally. I liked him, too, and it's quite sad to see him go. RIP.
Damn. I went to college with one of his grandkids. Said he was a pretty cool guy, too.
Fuck, he was a great author. RIP.
He was an amazing author.
Martian Chronicles were amazing
Whats with everyone dying this month?
I'm struggling to pinpoint something of his I haven't read.
Rest in peace. A father of science fiction :(
If you haven't read any of his books, READ ONE. Especially Fahrenheit 451
I just read some of his short stories and 451 last year in my literature class. Although I kind of thought he was too afraid of technology, I respect him greatly as an author.

Oh no. Well its too late now that he has died. I guess you'll have to wait until someone else writes it again.

Damn, I loved his short stories. At least he lived a long life.
Aw man. I always have a copy of Fahrenheit 451 on my desk, because it seems like I always want to look up a quote in it or maybe reread it. I've read it probably 15 times now.

I have 451 on my Kindle and will probably read it some day
True story
One of my favorite authors. Sad to see him go :(
I loved him and his writing style. He will be missed.
I loved Fahrenheit 451 the most not because it was sci-fi or that it was dystopian, but because how many inventions that we have today that were predicted in that book.
I have a hardcover copy of it, and will cherish it for many years to come.
