Should I play the original first? I was thinking of just playing the stand-alone, but I heard that it changed up a few things that would be better appreciated by people who've played the mod.
Best demo ever.
Make sure to tell postal about this demo.
That was the best demo ever made, I'm not even kidding. I will buy this game.

I was giggling all the way, amazing. One week seems too long for me now.
Holy shit the video on the steam page. This is the best thing ever, I love it when game developers do things like this.
If they put this much work into a fucking DEMO then imagine what the full game will be like. Good work SP guys.
So are there a bunch of branching paths in the demo as well?
good thing i probably won't be able to run it on this macbook air even better, i won't have access to a decent pc until i'm out of college woooo
Anyone find the secret? Also did anyone notice the LOST reference?
Anyone find the secret? Also did anyone notice the LOST reference?
You mean the red lines in the countdown flipper?
I just played the demo, and it was goddamn incredible. I was reasonably excited for the game before, but now I know I really need it. I remember a while ago, the dev (devs? i don't know) was talking about how he didn't know how to make people want to spend money on the game, because it's important that they go into it not knowing exactly what to expect. This presents the problem of "who would spend money blindly on something they don't know anything about?" This demo solves that problem flawlessly. The sheer brilliance of it lies with how it shows players exactly how the game will play, but nothing at all about the game itself. They'll know immediately the tone of the story, the game's sense of humor, and a good idea of how the game itself will play, but virtually nothing that would spoil it. This demo really blew me away in that respect. If you've never played the original Stanley Parable, it's great, too. Play it to tide you over for this game.
The secret: [sp]The secret is in the room with the emotions. There is a path in the back of the room where you have to crouch. If that is the secret. At least the sign says so.[/sp]
Anyone find the secret? Also did anyone notice the LOST reference?
Get funky Also this is one of the coolest "demos" I have ever "played" [editline]11th October 2013[/editline] Also I wasn't sure if that achievement was even real and I looked at my steam profile and it was. Amazing
The "story"telling is great. One moment I'm laughing, then I'm getting chills because of how slightly disturbing it all is. Especially where [sp]the narrator starts talking about the times he and the player had together, and then he goes on about things we didn't actually do.[/sp] I'm not quite sure what to make of that. Also, eight.
Hands down the best Demo I have ever played
I liked the little wall in the hallway with pictures of good demos or whatever.
time to wait 20 minutes in the waiting room to see what happens
The first Stanley Parable was super fun to play through, managed to get all the possible endings (check after I couldn't get any more) Excited to play the demo, really want to get the full game!
time to wait 20 minutes in the waiting room to see what happens
what happens: [sp]after about 5-10 seconds of waiting he just offers to give you the tour anyway, decided to stay put for the full 20 minutes to see if anything happened, but nothing at all did[/sp]
Best demo I've ever played.
That was great, haha. I highly recommend it. Definitely going to buy this next week, I was sad when it ended. Also [sp]I got my cup stuck behind a bucket and I couldn't pick it up again, thankfully the narrator had accounted for not putting the cup in the bin being a game in itself![/sp]
So apparently I'm a sexual predator because of the button I pressed, or does it say that if you push any button?
So apparently I'm a sexual predator because of the button I pressed, or does it say that if you push any button?
Says that for every button.
I was saddened to find that you can't showcase the achievement they give you in all its ridiculous face glory.
You're still a sexual predator though.
You're still a sexual predator though.
Pervert.
