It's not under the Free To Play category yet. Pushing to popular digital distribution to try and increase sales is a good sign, though
I wonder if F2P is going to be in that reveal. It would make for a fantastic F2P game, but it flops as a $60 + $15/mo
Oh yea there's this lttle tid bit too
here are some limitations to the Steam release, however. If you're already an Elder Scrolls Online player, you can add it to your Steam library as a non-Steam game but you won't be given a key for the Steam version. You also won't be able to use your Steam Wallet to pay for the subscription.
Does any other pay to play mmo like guild wars or secret world let you do that, for reference? Also the article is inaccurate, it's currently at 50% off on steam, not 25% off.
The second I saw it was on steam, for 50% off no less, I basically began my countdown clock to f2p. I give it until next month probably.

50% during Quake-con
Except there are other sub games on Steam that have been that way for years?
And have you even played the game to even know what the current playbase is like?
Jesus Christ these baseless claims are getting really annoying.
Seconded, there are way too many wild claims when they haven't even played the damn thing and people basing their initial opinion on them. This is a perfect example of judging a book by its cover or joining in the huge "hate MMO's" circle jerk.
Now before anyone starts tearing apart my post, know that while I played it at beta and launch and liked it for what it is, I grew bored fairly quickly and haven't played it much for over a month or so. What I can tell you is that a majority of the criticism is baseless and formed simply because it has the unfortunate distinction of being an Elder Scrolls MMO, a series we all know is best left as a singleplayer experience or co-op at the most. Any posts that say its a WoW clone is the biggest chunk of baseless and uninformed shit that people who dove straight into the circle-jerk came up with.
Basically its a good mmo, but a bad elder scrolls game. Its done somethings that other MMO's haven't like making exploration fun and rewarding. If anything, its like Guild Wars with better PvP, but since its Elder Scrolls we got to bash on it like its a poor WoW clone.

Don't buy it at 50% off guys, wait for the F2P sale
