Trying to get a rig built for as cheap as possible with certain performance standards

Well, I'm wanting to be able to play pretty much any game that comes out at atleast high (not max) 1280x1024 with good fps. The rig I've come up with so far should be able to, just wanting some advice for improvements etc. Here it is:
Case
I decided to use my old case from my old gaming rig. It's a bit beat up, but I think it'll work fine.

Edit: Revised again
Price: $600.93. Wish that combo was still around. I'm stuck with a worse mobo for more money :/
make sure you put the right ram in the right slot :d
Get this case/PSU, and go with AMD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103675 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131381
Board is expensive + bad brand
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128356
-35$
Unless you have a specific reason for a crossfire board?
[editline]07:06PM[/editline]
With the 30$ you saved, get a Q9550.

Hmmm, wondering whether or not I should go with what noobmuffin posted minus the PSU/mobo. Lemme see if it increases the price or something, it looks good
[editline]07:35PM[/editline]
Replaced the Q6600 with the Phenom II Deneb and the mobo with a better ASUS AMD one.
I'm beginning to think I may need more volts on the PSU to support the CPU and GPU...

500W should be fine
Updated and brought the price down to a staggering $581.80 :D
I can get it to 500
I can get it to 500
And with keeping the same performance? I'd appreciate that
Shit, the combo deal with the Phenom II X4/awesome mobo/4870 expired. I got a different mobo that's not nearly as good but has what I need.
where did my post go?

I'll make a build tonight
Well, I decided to use the parts from my old rig to this one. Drops the price by a megafuckton while keeping good base performance (I plan on upgrading as I go). Here's the new setup:
Case+PSU (I know it's a PSU included with the case, but I've heard good reviews about it so)
Broadway Com Corp 9257-Black Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 600W Power Supply - Retail

HDD (250gb)
Western Digital Caviar Blue WD2500AAJS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM
CPU
AMD Phenom 9650 2.3GHz Socket AM2+ 95W Quad-Core Processor Model HD9650WCGHBOX - Retail
Additional stuff
Thermal Paste
Arctic Silver CMQ-22G The high-density, ceramic-based thermal compound - Retail
Molex to 6/8-pin
Athena Power 14"(8"+6") Cable Model CABLE-MPCIE4628 - Retail
Comes out to be $319.30 with 3-day shipping. I'll be using a 7900GS for a video card and 1.5gb of RAM until I can get more money to replace those. I plan on expandability with this motherboard; I don't plan on having more than one video card. What I hope to have at the end with this rig is a Phenom II X4 945 Deneb, HD48701gb, and 8gb of ram. That'll come later, though.

What the fuck, two dumbs the instant I posted this
that case and PSU will be horrible
that case and PSU will be horrible
I don't really need a fancy ass case since I usually take off the side of my case. A little dust, who gives a shit. I surely don't.
it's not because it isn't fancy, it's because it'll be shitty quality
same with the PSU
it's not because it isn't fancy, it's because it'll be shitty quality

Well, nobody is reporting problems with it, and the PSU I had with my old rig came with the case and lasted seven years. Go figure. I'll take my chances.
You're gonna spend 44$ on a 250GB, 50$ on a 500GB, 65$ on a 750Gb, and 85$ on a 1Tb. Your choice.
CPU should be either a PII 550, or PII 720 (30$ more).
PSU should be around 500W, 20A or so on 12v.
Get this 4870 if you're buying before the end of this month, otherwise there's an XFX for 145$.
4GB DDR3 for around 70$.

Triple-core, do not want.
Edit:
Well, I don't know. I'm not sure if I want a lower GHz quad core or a higher GHz triple core. I'm seeing nice results with that CPU on youtube, but I don't know whether or not the price will go crazy with that combo. That mobo is nice though, grabbed that regardless. Also, I don't need 500GB. 250 will do just fine, trust me haha. I lived eight years with a 80gb fine :p
seeing as you're asking for help, you seem to know such a lot, dissing triple cores, using shitty PSUs
if you want help, maybe you should stop pretending you know better because you clearly don't

Yea.

I just tend to go for multipliers of 2 when I look for cores. Triple core seems, I don't know. Seems undergroundish :p I don't have anything against them, I just don't really like the aspect of triple core.
Bah, fine. I'll go for that triple core for now. But if anyone can find a quad core that's at $120 or below (that isn't apparently shit) then go for it.
I'm gonna stick with the case+psu combo, though. I know I shouldn't really get cheap PSUs since they have the ability to brick your computer, but I'll take my risks. My old PSU from my other rig (which lasted seven years) came with the case as well.
Was thinking of grabbing this. It's a bit more expensive (I know) but it appears to be very OC-able.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.231679
just get this and stop being an idiot risking the rest of your build

Pretty sure 500W isn't enough for the later stages of the build. I'm trying to aim for 600W. If you can find a 600W for the same as that or less, give that a whirl.
Wow haha, found my old rig's case. This is the exact same PSU as well, so I think I'll be fine with the one I've got. The OKIA PSU brand seems good, since my old rig's one lasted seven years.
Here's the link by the way: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811162012
A quality psu will outperform a shit one. That 500w is better then the psu that comes with the case you posted.
500W will run most if not all single card setups, unless you have like 10 HDDs and 20 fans
EDIT especially seeing as it's from a good brand which means you can push it more than 50% of it's capacity without it shitting itself jihad style
A quality psu will outperform a shit one. That 500w is better then the psu that comes with the case you posted.
Well, my old one that is the same brand as the one in that case lasted an amazing length, but looking at the reviews for all of their PSUs I'm kinda getting nervous. I've already rose the price from around $220 to $350, I can't really rise it anymore. I need atleast 600W and a cheap case (that looks sorta gamer-y).
broke mah automerge
