Before you assume, my computer isn't bad. I have a Q6600, 4870, and 4GB of ram. But no matter what, Itunes still seems to lag a lot when opening and navigating the interface. A lot of people have recommended Winamp, but I hate the interface too much to use it, I prefer the interface of Itunes much better. Is there any way to make Itunes not run so slowly? Thanks in advance :)
iTunes on windows does lag alot. I don't think there's anything you can do about it
If you like the iTunes UI that much you could try songbird.
EDIT: But no, there's no way to fix it; apple just makes crappy software.
Damn. Oh well thanks for the help anyway :)

This. I don't think that Itunes was designed to work first hand on Windows, but rather on Apple's own OS.
I don't see why so many use Itunes as their media player, I think it's utter shit. You should really listen to those telling you to use Winamp.
MediaMonkey is kinda like iTunes and can be skinned to look like it.
Winamp is amazing. If you get used to the interface it's really good.
its just apples way of saying "hurf durf get a mac"

Agree'd.
Apple software only works good on Apple computers/Mac OS
Get Spotify.

A lot of people have ipods. And I suggest foobar2000. In my experience of trying iTunes, Winamp, MediaMonkey, and Songbird, foobar is hands down the best. Uses minimal resources, 100% customizable, and overall a great player.

How many songs are in your library? I use iTunes a lot, and it's always fine for me. However, a friend of mine has a 280GB library, and his runs considerably slower. I have 12GB of music (2.2k songs) in my library, for reference.
Yeh, I have a macbook (as a second computer) and iTunes runs great on that. On my main pc though it's pretty slow...
Itunes runs fine for me, no slowing down.

It doesn't slow *down*, it's just going 15 miles an hour.

Winamp does not have this problem. And it is not bad to use, a great solution to your problem if you use itunes because of the layouts. (Meaning you have no Ipod)
