Adobe would rather just let it die and conform to the new web standards instead of fight a losing battle I guess.
Hence why even in their software package, they changed the name from Adobe Flash to Adobe Animate or something like that. Of course I think they had already gutted Flash some time ago for that reason. It's just the name change that's new.

Ads that are exactly the same are still possible. It's just saying Google won't support the ones in the outdated format.
