QPS Media, which maintains hugely popular Facebook and Twitter feeds, has created a Wanted poster for the Canadian rock band ahead of their Brisbane concert on Wednesday night.
With the warning "BOLO - Be On the Look Out", the poster features identikit drawings of the four band members with the message "Wanted for Crimes Against Music".
The real message is urging concert-goers to be careful driving around the Brisbane Entertainment Centre at Boondall, which is notorious for getting clogged with traffic after events.

I'm convinced the blind hatred of Nicklebakc by people on the Internet is nothing but a circlejerk. Can anyone explain why Nickelback should be the most vilinaized band in the world, without saying "the internet told me to hate them?"

Just hold on if you're going home. Drake is at Brisbane Entertainment Centre tonight.
Good Life (no Drake) and Future (Drake) Music Festivals are on at Doomben Racecourse on Friday and Saturday.

I don't get it either. They're a mediocre band at best and wouldn't be as known if it wasn't for the hatred of them.

I actually find it kind of impressive that Nickelback has built a career around being exceptionally mediocre. That said, if you want to rag on horrible bands that peaked in the early 2000s, may I suggest Creed and the terror that is Scott Stapp's voice? Or Limp Bizkit and the insufferable douchebag that fronts it?

It probably has to do with that they are doing everything to try being relevant. They went from grunge, post grunge, rock, pop rock, alternative rock to now do a disco rockish song.

I mean if you compare them to the sound on silver side up its kinda different
Their posts like these are the only reason I subscribed to their facebook feed.
Why can't NSW Police Force hire someone like them. :(

This is the reason I hate them. Not because of some internet bandwagon thing, but because they actually had a good song or two back in the day and then just completely changed their style to fit in with what was popular. I can't believe that video you posted is the same nickelback that did this:

The "hate" I have for Nickelback doesn't really come from what is essentially an internet meme these days, but rather just that I've always found them to be utterly generic.
There's really nothing special about them, in my opinion. Also, I can't say I'm a fan of the vocalist's vocal style.
Though, this is coming from a guy who pretty much breathes metal (mostly of the death variety), so take my opinions and thoughts with a massive chunk of salt.
Ha, gotta really give it to their social media person. This stuff is not only funny, but is a great way of engaging the community too.

I'd say it's mostly due to nickelback being pretty much the only band to have survived the trolldom and hate.
They basically acrued the baggage over years. Remember tokio hotel? Or other little bands that were the darlings of trolls?
Remember tokio hotel?
I actually still do.
But seriously how in the name of jesus did you thought of that garbage band?

Been wondering the same thing.
Sure, they're mediocre as fuck but there's some waaaaaaaay shittier bands and artists out there.
I'm not even ashamed to admit that i actually like some Nickelback songs, even some of the newer ones.

Goes on about Nickleback for a bit.
ahaha #lookAtThisGraph
Ah, Nickelback.
The running joke of "rock" music - so generic you could listen to their entire discography and mistake it for one very long, boring track.

It's not even hate, it's just a meme.
It's not even hate, it's just a meme.
But where do you think memes come from?
It was the masterminds behind Nickelback, the band itself, that orchestrated its inception into internet culture..
......By having the same sound for a literal decade.
the hate for nickelback comes from most of us being old enough to actually remember the early 2000's and having to listen to the same 4 fucking 'hits' (which i probably honestly could not tell apart these days) three times a day for five years

It was even worse for me because I grew up in the closest decent sized city to their home town so I probably had to hear their songs more than the average person. At least some of their older songs were tolerable.
Also one of my friends in high school said they ran over his dog.

Because according to most of NSW bureaucracy, being serious all the time is what makes people like them. Although sometimes they'll try to be funny and it won't work because it's too awkward, but they'll see it as an excuse to keep being serious.

Interesting video, as he explains fairly well the cultural subtext about Nickelback or Phil Fish. Not that I necessarily agree with the conclusion but it's worth watching for that alone.
And wrt Nickelback, I don't feel we have been overly exposed this side of the pond. (But we have plenty of other oozing bland shite to fill the void).
