• Venezuela Doesn't Have Enough Money to Pay for Its Money
Venezuela’s epic shortages are nothing new at this point. No diapers or car parts or aspirin -- it’s all been well documented. But now the country is at risk of running out of money itself.

“It’s an unprecedented case in history that a country with such high inflation cannot get new bills,” said Jose Guerra, an opposition law maker and former director of economic research at the central bank. Late last year, the central bank ordered more than 10 billion bank notes, surpassing the 7.6 billion the U.S. Federal Reserve requested this year for an economy many times the size of Venezuela’s.
Link's broken.
sorry, fixed now
Ok we get it, you hate socialism
poor mismanagement and inflation of money supply isn't caused by socialist policies what dude
poor mismanagement and inflation of money supply isn't caused by socialist policies what dude
state takeover and intervention (socialism!) in the markets is what has caused venezuelas downward spiral. heres a great article about it: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2015/01/21/venezuela-should-be-rich-but-its-government-has-destroyed-its-economy/
state takeover and intervention (socialism!) in the markets is what has caused venezuelas downward spiral.
Id love to see some citations for that.
Sensational as fuck headline, venizuala is also extremely high on the corruption indexes
state takeover and intervention (socialism!) in the markets is what has caused venezuelas downward spiral.
No, 96% of your exports being oil during an oil price fall is what causes this.
Sensational as fuck headline, venizuala is also extremely high on the corruption indexes
most socialist countries are
most socialist countries are
Except you know, Sweden, Norway, Finland, etc.
Except you know, Sweden, Norway, Finland, etc.
countries with relatively free markets that only recently adopted a welfare state model? damn you sure got me
most socialist countries are
Please continue posting things with out any evidence what so ever. You are really doing a fine job arguing
Sensationalist headline aside, reaching a point where you don't have enough money to make money is kind of amazing. The really sad, yet spectacular kind of amazing.
state takeover and intervention (socialism!) in the markets is what has caused venezuelas downward spiral. heres a great article about it: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2015/01/21/venezuela-should-be-rich-but-its-government-has-destroyed-its-economy/
You know like every other petro state has nationalised their oil companies at one point or another and have not suffered the same issues Their oil was the most expensive oil in the world because of terrible mismanagement from the companies to the government, it has nothing to do with regulated economies, they were flat out unable to improve their production costs, or balance a budget
countries with relatively free markets that only recently adopted a welfare state model? damn you sure got me
Socialism isn't the absence of free-markets.
most socialist countries are
Um no, Europe is actually pretty low on those indexes Are you by chance referring to communist dictatorships instead?
Question related to the economic failure of Socialism: Is China considered a Socialist country?
No, 96% of your exports being oil during an oil price fall is what causes this.
Yeah, this is sadly the pattern that repeats in Latin America, those nations have basically been relegated to producer status where they produce and export raw materials - and import manufactured goods from traditionally developed nations. Of course, it's definitely more complex than that, but in general that's the pattern that has been repeated ever since colonization. Chavez was part of what's called "The Pink Tide" when more leftist leaders were being elected, which followed more conservative leaders which followed the military regimes of the 60s and 70s (in general). It's fairly interesting tracing the roots of issues like what's happening in Venezula and seeing what has helped to directly cause the problem, and how it could possibly be effectively fixed.
Question related to the economic failure of Socialism: Is China considered a Socialist country?
china has open and free markets. very few things are state run barring the media, and thats used a propaganda tool.
Socialism isn't the absence of free-markets.
The point he's trying to make is that they're not socialist.
countries with relatively free markets that only recently adopted a welfare state model? damn you sure got me
"Something that doesn't fit with my preconception? Better label it something I can deal with"
Curse democratic socialism and their police, firefighters, public roads, military, etc! Socialism is the devil.
"Something that doesn't fit with my preconception? Better label it something I can deal with"
look at the data, then come back to me. thanks
The point he's trying to make is that they're not socialist.
No one claimed they were. His problem, and one that many people like him have, is the complete inability to separate the words "Socialism" from the word "Democracy" and the resulting argument is a piece of trite based around incorrect preconceptions of "Socialism".
Question related to the economic failure of Socialism: Is China considered a Socialist country?
Yeah, I guess you could say that. I guess it really depends on where you are in China because there are those special zones where capitalism reigns free and not to mention Hong Kong and Macau are pretty capitalist.
look at the data, then come back to me. thanks
How about you act, and speak, in a way that is actually something worth responding to rather than hyperbole, strawman, and incorrect definitions of things you're showing a clear and obvious bias against.
china has open and free markets. very few things are state run barring the media, and thats used a propaganda tool.
I think you're confusing socialism with communism. [editline]27th April 2016[/editline]
look at the data, then come back to me. thanks
How about you link the data so that we can "analyze" it instead of watching you mouthing off meaningless rhetoric
