• Need a CPU, RAM, Motherboard, and Graphics Card

My current computer is more than 5 years old now, and I find running a lot of the modern games to be just a shit experience for me so I decided it's time to swap out some parts. I already have a good case, 2TB harddrive, dvd drive, monitor and what not. I'm just looking to replace the core components of my PC. so I need a CPU, RAM (at least 4gb), Motherboard, and Graphics card I don't know much about computer building so I need facepunch's help with this. I don't have a budget, as I don't know what the pricing of these components are these days, but I have about $1000 CAD saved up in my bank account (though I don't think I'll need to spend nearly that much). I care most about performance, as I hope this new build will last me at least another five years. I want to be able to at least run Battlefield 3 on Maximum with no lag. Any help is appreciated!

You should at least mention what your current motherboard is and how powerful your PSU is, as you might be able to re-use the PSU and the RAM. Although if to judge by the age of it, it won't be useful anyhow, but the request for information about your PSU still stands. Just the brand and wattage is enough.
Want some SLI?
i thought a 580 was more then enough for that
Motherboard: Asus P5W DH Deluxe PSU: Corsair HX520W (so I assume 520 watt) As for RAM, from what I can tell by just looking into my case is that I have 2 sticks of 1gb ram. You can't build a PC that will max out Battlefield 3 with just $1000. My PC build was $1800 approximately, if you include mouse / keyboard / monitor, and after the Ultra Setting comes into the actual Battlefield 3 game I doubt I will be able to max it still. You will be wanting EXACTLY this: 2500K GTX 580 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws-X 2133MHz (Extremely cheap right now, very fast) CoolerMaster Elite 371 (Cheap but high quality case, just save on the case if you want gaming performance.) Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB HDD (Best HDD you can get, faster than a WD Black and half the price.) TX550 Power Supply will do. Get anything Corsair and 500W+, don't bother with any other brand at your price range because they will most likely be really shit.

[editline]8th October 2011[/editline] also I need a motherboard because I don't think my current one will support ddr3
