Ok, it's a large ipod touch, but the ipod touch was amazing! Im really torn on this one, opinions?
No.
no
goddamn it
Hahahahaha
ha.
I wouldn't reccomend it.
Fuck no.
absolutely not.
too small to go in a pocket, too big to be a good netbook.
If you don't already have an iPod or iPhone, then go for it.
Otherwise it's pretty useless.
Good reasoning...
wait a year or two when it's a revolutionary device.
This is the right place to ask if you're looking for a "no" .
I wouldn't for the price. I'm going to go against the grain here & say it's probably pretty convenient to have around. I consider it a luxury item for a coffee-table (a full-blown tablet pc would be too much of a pain in the ass for really casual use). Not something I would rely on.
If you get one, you'll get laid my super models all the time. I'd go for it.
It's a larger iPod which costs $300 more but does exactly the same things if not less. For that money you could get an iPod Touch AND a fully functional netbook - ironically capable of running Mac OS X.

Go buy like 20 copies of Bioshock 2 instead

And gift them in the GGT!

buy ANY other tablet computer. no matter if you hate Microsoft Windows. all the crashes are better than that piece of shit
The keyboard just seems strange. I like being able to feel the keys while I type, especially the little bumps on the F and J keys. Also, there's a reason laptops have the folding screen besides portability: it's simply easier to view a screen somewhat perpendicular to the keyboard.
So, no, don't get one. It's hip and trendy but not all that useful.
1 word:
Netbook

It's even useless then. You can't fit an iPad in your pocket!
Unless you have huge pockets, or just shove the whole thing into your pants...
I'd wait like 6 months or so at least to see if people start developing/releasing apps for it that catch your interest.
I think the fact that it runs iphone/itouch apps is more a bonus than anything else. It'll be a while until we start seeing some truly cool shit developed for the ipad itself, and that's when you'll really be able to tell if it's worth the investment or not.

That sir, is an oxymoron.
If you swapped big and small it would make sense.
I got the iPaperPad, and waiting for the iPad 2.

Most itouch apps are cool because they are fun enough and are portable on the ithouch. But if I get a computer, even a laptop, especially one as stylized as the Ipad, I'd want something a bit nicer than crappy apps.
Yeah, I don't think i'll get one. Thanks for the advice.
That's fucking stupid.
It's completely true, though. The 53 tons of sands probably break less, too.

You have to remember, though, everyone on Facepunch is biased.
