lmao what how is an image sharing site this popular only allowing square photos
Part of its original "thing" was imitating old film formats with borders like Polaroids and stuff like that because hipsters. Hardly anyone uses that stuff anymore though, they just take the picture and slap a random filter on it, or use an app that lets you put multiple pictures into a grid or whatever. I guess they're moving away from the hipster-oriented stuff now that it's become mainstream (heh) for a while now.
So what are hipsters using now ?
Something else, of course because Instagram is mainstream.
So what are hipsters using now ?
Ello is the latest hipster trend.
Ello is the latest hipster trend.
I tried Ello. It's god awful. They seem to think they have a really nice design going on but I'm not sure about you but Monospace fonts really look shite online unless it's for code or code-lookalike stuff. It seems more of a mish-mash of Tumblr and Twitter as well. The only redeeming factor is it's more privacy conscious than Facebook, but where are they making their money from? Soon they'll have to cave in to advertisements.
im not gonna lie i thought the square pics had some charm to them, or at the very least gave its design a really neat look
