I made the tragic mistake of buying Red River and I can safely say that it's one of the worst ports I've ever played.

Codemasters owns the copyright name of Operation Flashpoint, but they technically don't own the original game. It's why the ARMA series is, well, ARMA and why the original game got renamed to ARMA: Cold War Crisis.

even when GFWL shuts down the games will still play, just the online stuff like ranked multiplayer and achievements won't work.

No. I never had a single problem with Dirt 2 whenever I played it without an Internet connection. same for every other GFWL game I've played, so DR2 must be an exception.

The Argonauts game looks pretty good for those who just want an Action RPG to play around with.
