• Harrison Ford on Blade Runner II script: "Wow, this is the best thing I've ever read"
Get excited! Director Ridley Scott recently told MTV that Harrison Ford absolutely loves the script for the upcoming Blade Runner sequel. So much so that Ford apparently called it the best thing he's ever read. Let's hope he's even half right.1 "I sent him [the script] and he said 'wow, this is the best thing I've ever read' so it's very relevant to what happened [in] the first one," Scott told MTV. "I'm not just doing a sequel with lots of action and see how far we can go with the special effects, because you can't really." translated it says: this is the biggest paycheck I've ever recieved
I just hope Ridley Scott doesn't fuck it up. Everything after Prometheus has been terrible.
Just don't let post-Prometheus Ridley Scott direct it, please. The man's work is faltering after that mess.
I still maintain that Ridley Scott is a great director. He just seemed to have a horrible eye for choosing his projects. I think it's usually writing that's the problem.
tbh the only way i'll even be remotely excited for a sequel is if Vangelis returns to do the music
I just hope Ridley Scott doesn't fuck it up. Everything after Prometheus has been terrible.
This. I also hope they don't play around too much with the whole deckard is [sp]possibly an android[/sp] or if they are they don't go with the director's cut scenes[sp] because one of them flat out jumps the gun and its pretty sure after that Deckard is an android.[/sp] I loved the ambiguity of the ending because it was open to interpretation by anyone. I hope for a similar story with Blade Runner 2. Then again, i have no idea how the plot works so we might see something different entirely.
Damon Lindoff is why Prometheus fell apart. Ridley is amazing.
I will remain optimistic as always, loved the first Blade runner but as with all sequels you just gotta push your feelings away.
I just hope Ridley Scott doesn't fuck it up. Everything after Prometheus has been terrible.
That was his previous big release... lol Exodus was amazing and it wasn't even the 4 hour cut!

I bet he said it like this: (40 seconds)
translated it says: this is the biggest paycheck I've ever recieved
Actually ford is a bit of a critic, he notoriously pruned the first Indy film of some stuff that doesn't make sense. Truth be told though, he barely had any lines in blade runner anyways since its mostly solo shots and decker doesn't really talk much
Ridley is amazing.
not anymore [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/pfOeaT2.png?1[/img_thumb]
I... never liked Bladerunner. I appreciated it for what it was (the thing that pretty much revolutionized western cyberpunk) but I really couldn't like it. Hopefully I like this one more.
Damon Lindoff is why Prometheus fell apart. Ridley is amazing.
We gave him another chance with The Counselor and Exodus, and he fucked both of those up too.
That was his previous big release... lol Exodus was amazing and it wasn't even the 4 hour cut!
exodus was pretty bad though. like, it's being universally panned
Damon Lindoff is why Prometheus fell apart.
I don't understand how he keeps getting work.
Ridley Scott doesn't write his movies so it can range from terrible to great. Also, Exodus had like 5 writers, I don't know why they had so many for just one film. I'll never forgive Scott if he makes a shitty Blade Runner film though.
tbh the only way i'll even be remotely excited for a sequel is if Vangelis returns to do the music
this 100%
I just recently rewatched the final cut of BR. I'm very skeptical that the sequel can match it, but excited nonetheless. Even if it's just a rehash or just fan service it'll still be enjoyable.
not anymore [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/pfOeaT2.png?1[/img_thumb]
Rotten tomatoes? really? Those people have bigger ego's than goons!
Rotten tomatoes? really? Those people have bigger ego's than goons!
Yeah, almost as bad as those guys at Metacritic.

it's going to be shit
I really really hope they keep the traditional cyberpunk aesthetic and just make it bigger and better. More neon, more fog, buildings so tall you can't see the sky. Because if one thing pisses me off about long-after sequels is when they change a movie's entire aesthetic and hand-wave it somehow (i'm looking at you, Tron Legacy)
translated it says: this is the biggest paycheck I've ever recieved
As apposed to his other giant paychecks made out to Solo and Jones?
Ridley Scott is a great director but the writers and scripts he chooses have been absolutely horrible for way too long. As far as I'm concerned every single one of Scott's movie was well directed, and it was at the script that the whole thing started falling apart.
