Well I'm taking my test for my driving permit tommorow and people have been telling me constantly that its going to be hard as hell, and you have to know every little detail about the state laws (V.A. in this case). So basically Ive been freaking out about it, so how were all your driving permit tests inb4 age comment
It's pretty easy.
Have you read through the driver's handbook? I came within one question of passing it without reading that stupid book three times so it isn't that hard but if you read the book cover to cover a few times you'll probably pass.
Take the pre-test online if your state has it. I had the best time on my test and that's what I did.
I live in FL, and I took the test online. My parents "helped" me. Edit: I'm not a bad driver, I know how to drive my dad's commercial truck. I can back it into a parking space perfectly. Looks like this:
Took the practice ones, doesnt seem to hard http://www.dmv.state.va.us/dmvweb/kats/sne_intro.asp
It's easy as shit. Just remember on the drinking part "Drinking is bad. Drinking will kill you" because that's what they want to burn into your skull so if you answer "Drugs are bad mmkay" you'll pass.

"Drinking and driving is fun and perfectly safe!"
Just read all the answers before you choose one.
Take the practice tests, glance at the handbook thing, you'll be fine.
Real answer: It's pretty easy if you actually learned the material. Real fact: I scored 100 Real hint: Bring them donuts down at the DMV, they get hungry and it increases your chances of passing. (Not jelly filled, they aren't cops.)
Ah, I live in Virginia too. Read the pre-test book. Also, pay attention to numbers, as in "park 15 feet away from a fire hydrant." They will show up.
Just read the handbook, I actually thought that the permit test was harder then the drivers license test, but that's just me. I literally walked in, and took the class where I studied a book and took a test each day. Then at the end I turned in the paper they gave me saying I was done to the state drivers place and they turned it into a license. Permit was just studying and taking a test without really having any true study time, not hard though.
It's not bad. My school had a career center thing I got to take it in. After a couple of tries I got it, mostly by remembering things I got wrong. And studying, of course.

It's literally one of the easiest tests on earth and really shouldn't be used to check the mentality of new drivers. I passed mine with a 96%, missed a question about what to do in a sandstorm.

it's really fucking easy
it's really fucking easy [editline]12:08AM[/editline] it's just like driving with your parents with another person there
It's easier to drive without parents there, overreacting over every single thing you do. Parents will make you a nervous wreck.
I was too lazy to study, failed twice :v:, so get your ass studying and don't be lazy.
It's seriously the easiest thing you could ever take.
Darn, I feel retarded that I got within one question of failing. At least I passed.
READ THE HANDBOOK! I can't stress enough how important it is that you read it. You don't need to memorize it, just know what the fuck you're talking about.
Took the practice ones, doesnt seem to hard http://www.dmv.state.va.us/dmvweb/kats/sne_intro.asp
GUWHAHAHA THAT ONE IS BULLSHIT, the question that one gives you are shit easy compared to the ones on the actual VA test, now don't get me wrong the test isn't hard, but that pre-test gives you the wrong idea. The only real tip i used was TAKE YOUR TIME and think of every single answer. There is no reason to rush through it just take your time
I had no trouble with the permit stuff. I had trouble with the state test for a drivers license, though.
Don't worry, the permit test is easy. I barely read the drivers handbook and I passed the test on my first try.
Its all common sense. Read the book or do the your states DMV's online practice tests because it gives you the answers to study from.
I did a whole lot of tests online and got 100% but on the day i was one wrong answer from failure, three hard questions left.... and i passed
Its all common sense.
Really, about 98% of it is common sense, the other two percent is just remembering facts and measurements. 14 feet from a fire hydrant. Stuff like that.
Took the practice ones, doesnt seem to hard http://www.dmv.state.va.us/dmvweb/kats/sne_intro.asp
THe VA test is so stupid, the only question I got wrong was "when you see an blind person crossing the street what do you do" I said stop, the correct answer was "proceed slowly and honk horn" Also yay va people
First test 1 wrong. 2nd test 0 wrong. It's easy. Asks you to identify signs, sign colors ie. yellow, orange etc.
