Fox News and MSNBC both find themselves in unusual positions right now: Fox is losing and MSNBC is winning.
And there seems to be a striking similarity between the ratings race and President Trump's political fortunes.
Fox, which has a pro-Trump vibe in prime time, usually ranks No. 1 among cable news channels with 25 to 54 year olds, a key demographic for advertisers.
But for the past week, with Trump mired in scandal, MSNBC has out-rated Fox News in prime time in the so-called "demo."
It's as if people aren't interested in watching Seth Rich DNC conspiracy theories during a White House crisis??
I hope it's not a one off. Fox News is disgusting.
On one side, glad to see Fox News eating shit for their shit journalism.
On the other side, isn't MSNBC basically left wing Fox News?

It's not as bad - it's gone very centre the past year and hired a lot of ex-Fox news hosts.

No but CNN pretty much is, or at least was during the election.

CNN and MSNBC both have their moments of severe bias, but they're both still better than Fox News by a lot if you ask me. I think CNN just really had it out for Trump, and I don't know if I blame them, in some ways.
I don't know what MSNBC's been up to lately but historically they've been the left-biased news network, moreso than CNN.

MSNBC is like Fox News except MSNBC doesn't have a zealot like drive to them that makes them look like insane retards.

how is cnn left wing?
neoliberal != left wing.
CNN is only left wing by America's weird standards
I'd say CNN's biggest similarity to Fox News is its sensationalism, not its bias. CNN has deliberately attempted to copy Fox's business model, but their driving force is ad revenue rather than ideology.
Hmm, wonder if Fox is going to start being more critical of Trump in hopes of recovering.

Even then they've been extremely moderate in recent years. They're one of the larger factors of fame and infamy that drove Trump to win the primaries.

Doubtful, this isn't a significant hit to them, and they follow the party lines to the toe. They'll keep running the Trump train until the last Republican senator goes against the president.
Honestly most of American traditional mainstream media in general are going centrist or even centre-right in last few years (hiring right wing pundits and ignoring real issues with "neutral" view happening to this nation) due they want keep relevant and they want money.
CNN's award winning journalism in action.

It's almost as if trying to ignore the biggest scandal in the history of American politics would be bad for ratings.

That's hilariously on point.
When you're wanting to cover a massive, juicy story but it'd be completely shitting on your political affiliation.

I hate that this is some kind of epic "gotcha MSM" meme because it's really obviously intended to be a joke, even if it's a dumb joke. The way Trump put that in his interview made him sound like a child, so he's being mocked for it. Hell, the original story on CNN was done by a lady who almost entirely does fluff pieces like this.

So, then, they eventually will become the left-wing version of Fox News?

calling them journalism is an insult to journalists everywhere. it's just propaganda
So, then, they eventually will become the left-wing version of Fox News?
No, they will be centrist Fox News.

If for no other reason, CNN's sheer ineptitude and slavish devotion to getting "both sides of the story" will ensure they never become a partisan echo-chamber like Fox. Even at the moment, their alleged liberal bias as complained about by people who consider themselves themselves critics of the establishment/mainstream media (who coincidentally don't consider Fox to be MSM, despite up until recently having better ratings than CNN and MSNBC combined, i.e. the literal definition of mainstream) amounts to little more than shallow political theater - sensationalized "breaking news" stories meant to capture your attention with empty spectacle so they can assault your eyes with more adverts. Don't let their criticism of Trump fool you into thinking CNN is an ally of the progressive left. It isn't. Today it's Trump, yesterday it was "BERNIE SANDERS: WE WILL RAISE TAXES." CNN's only allegiance is to the political and corporate establishment; their ideology is whatever will rake in the ratings.
