• Weed with heart condition

I asked about this in the question thread but I'm looking for some more input. So I have a heart condition, aortic stenosis in particular. This means my aortic valve is more narrow than others. Because of this, my doctor doesn't allow me to play competitive sports besides something like baseball. Honestly, I can do all of this without any issue but it's just in case. Anyways, I am just concerned because I know it can cause tachycardia and mess with blood pressure. I'm not planning to do it now but maybe sometime over the next couple of years and I'm not going to ask my doctor about it (even though I know I should). Opinions?
You should ask your doctor about it.
Get yourself a nice indica strain, sativas send my heart rate through the fucking roof. Plus I find the sativa experience too anxious anyway.

Your heart condition sounds similar to mine, I have a first degree heart block which means that one of the valves is slightly delayed. It doesn't effect me really, I'll occasionally be short of breath or have palpitations. I also have a heart murmur. I smoke weed a fair amount and I've never had anything bad happen, once or twice I've had palpitations but nothing unlike the standard one's, and it may not have even been the weed that triggered them since they happen pretty randomly anyway. So if your condition is anything like mine then through personal experience I'd say you'd be fine. It doesn't hurt to ask your doctor though, they can't tell anyone due to the doctor/patient confidentiality laws. And it's not as if they can arrest you for asking a question.
I don't think weed is good for the heart, I think it can cause tachycardia
bass your right on that it does increase heartbeating
Wait so when I'm high and my heart's flipping the fuck out, it's really happening? I thought it was just because I was sensitive to every motion in my body.

That's really strange :psyduck: Cocaine (£80 a gram stuff :c00l:) did nothing noticable to my heart, yet weed? If it's really happening, that's quite scary. :ohdear:
Soon after smoking, I get crazy heart beat. A few months ago, it was crazy and I felt breathless and thought I was having a panic attack. Except I didn't panic because I didn't want to look an arse in public. As soon as I sat down though I was fine, just think I was just real high and needed to sit down. Another time one of my mates started stumbling about and we thought he was messing but he kinda passed out for a moment and came round again.
I think the results of this thread are pretty conclusive. Smoke weed = Heart attack edit: search your feelings, you know it to be true...
i hate weed with heart conditions. i prefer strong, healthy weed.
In all honesty if you're having doubts yourself when you know your condition pretty well, I'd say just don't. Better to not risk it, atleast find out properly.
What if I let it come on slowly (like taking small hits every few minutes)? Or will it have the same effect either way?

Honestly, smoking weed won't affect your heart rate greatly. You might raise it on your own by freaking out, but all you need to do is relax. Moderate yourself, if you become uncomfortable then stop smoking; you can always smoke more later on.
smoking indica or sativa will cause your heart to race. but really, unless your doctor recommended against exercise then i wouldn't worry. whenever i smoke and my heart races it's only as fast as it would go after a decent run or now a walk up a steep hill (cause i love smokin dem newports). just remember, BREATHE FROM YOUR BELLY. this is insanely important to fully utilize your diaphragm for everyone because it will help if you start to get paranoid or hear sirens or whatever. you breathe with your chest you're not getting air deep into the lungs which is where it's most easily absorbed.

I previously couldn't but I had surgery and I feel better than ever.
if i were you i'd not smoke that much but i'd still smoke. football is extremely strenuous too. but really, we're not your doctor and none of what we say here is real medical advice as far as i know, we are not responsible for anything that happens to you.

It's really up to you. You know the risk - the onset of weed can be hard on the heart, palpitations and rapid heart beats are common with smoking. If that's a problem with your condition, I wouldn't recommend smoking. That being said, we all do stupid things that aren't good for our health.
I've had times when I've bunned, and I've had the most chilled high. but other times I've smoked and I feel like I'm wide awake and need to do shit.
I realize that but of course my doctor isn't going to say "Go ahead and smoke".
Yet he might say, Yes It is fine, but it is illegal...Really depends on the person. Oh and how much you know your doctor. I had a chest procedure after my heart was pushed almost under my armpit...I get heart palpitations and the such and I'm fine smokeing weed.
You should ask your doctor about it.
Actually, your doc will be absolutely honest with you about weed. Every doctor and psychiatrist (minus one) were all on the same page as us about weed. I was always open about the drugs I used to my shrink, and they were fine with it. They always told me to stay away from the harder drugs though. Also, most doctors will at least try to educate on proper drug use, since they can't exactly stop you from doing them.

Fact or fiction? No idea. Though I remember my shrink also being really chill about my weed use and just shrugged it off as normal, I'm glad some doctors out there are chill.
i openly admitted to abusing my adderall to my doctor and recently got prescribed ativan
same here i stopped taking it though because of horrendous hallucinations. so instead i took my opiates for my anxiety for that time being
