Ok well my pc is making the error code of a unfit graphics card. So I called the local computer technical support line and they said there are multiple things that could be going on with it. But I wanted to ask FP just incase they didn't know what they were talking about. I've heard of graphics cards not working because of dust and was wondering if it's a possibility that If I got a can of air and tried to blow it out if that would work. But I'm unsure can someone tell me the problems that could be going on with my graphics card because this card is pretty much brand new I bought it about 7 months ago its the new Nvidia GTX 480 series. Answers would be much appreciated.
It can be a few things:
-Graphics card
-Motherboard
-Powersupply
If you can, test your graphics card in another computer and try a confirmed working graphics card in yours to try and isolate the problem.
I just tried dusting out the pc with a can of air and that didn't seem to do the trick. The guys down at the comp tech place told me not to touch anything they think I might make it worst so I'm just going to wait until I go down there.
Also what's the best graphics card I can get for under $150?
If you know anything about computers there's no point in taking it to them. You can do anything they can do yourself. Unless you know nothing about computers.
Do you have any other computers? Do all the fans spin when you turn it on? Does anything display on the screen?
All of the fans spin but one of them delay at startup. It's one of the mini fans that came with the box. My screen says no signal and goes to sleep so I can't see anything. I've tried plugging in my keyboard and mouse and moving them around but that does nothing.
If you have a VGA port on your motherboard I strongly suggest you try plugging your monitor into that and unplug you GFX card from the power and see if you receive the same error. Easy way to eliminate a graphics card fault.
Secondly, check you cables are all plugged in correctly, Especially for you Hard drive but check all. Faulty connections from the hard drive and CPU will most likely from seeing the boot up menu and going into the bios built into the motherboard.
Third, If you have another power supply spare that is close to sufficient for your current set up test that. It could be that your current one is damaged and cannot support he voltage for you CPU, gfx card etc.
