A.1 Death Proof
A.2 Rouge
B.1 E.M.F.H.
B.2 Sunshine
Out now On Stereoptico Records | July 20, 2010
Miami instrumentalist Raw Stiles and Minnesota/LA indie synthesizer fiend Fancy Mike collide for the first time on "Fantastique," a new four-track EP being released through experimental music net-label Stereoptico.
The record is a continuation of Stereoptico's 2x2 series, which showcases two tracks from pairs of promising underground artists. "Fantastique" is also the first in the series to feature two artists from the United States. Laden with buttery synthesizers and crunchy drumlines, the results are truly "Fantastique!"

No.
Downloading it and giving it a listen on Soundcloud right now...
Wow, some pretty fat layering on Death Proof. Not too sure whether the volume cut sounds too good. Sidechaining on the kick is a bit too high also. Triplet drum fill is cool! I fell as though it's all a bit too saturated for my liking. Random bit on the end :v:
Rouge has a great feel to it. Loving the cut up voices and synths. Sounds like it has an almost blues-style chord progression to it. Too short :v:
E.M.F.H. is nasty. But in a good way. Evil. Really nice sweeping synths and that bass feels really organic. The beat is so fat, it feels like a more speedy version of dubstep.
It's a cool mix of air and heavy bass on Sunshine. The pads/samples in the background keep it from being too saturated. Again, drums are nice an heavy- they have swagger to them. Good way to end this EP.
It's less important than the music but that is a sweet album cover. If you don't mind me asking, how was it produced?
All in all, really good EP man! Great idea bringing two underground artists together too. It was a great listen.

Thanks for the review and listen Kaburorne! Glad you enjoyed the art. Are you asking about how the artwork was produced? If so, I can't give you an answer for that because it was all done in-house through Stereoptico though I know that for all the 2X2's that get released, it's all part of some bigger picture... So I guess that's sort of an answer.
Lemme know if you have any other questions.
