MAMMÚT is an Icelandic band formed in 2003. The original band consisted of 3 young Icelandic girls named Guðrún the bassist, Alexandra the guitarist and Katrína the singer. They were soon joined by 2 other boys, guitarist Arnar and drummer Andri. They entered Músíktilraunir (Icelandic Battle of the Bands) and walk. The top award is 20 hours in a recording studio owned by Sigur Rós. There was the premise for the recording of their debut album called [I]Mammút[/I], released in 2006. The bassist, Guðrún, left the band shortly thereafter, and was replaced by Vilborg.
Their followup album [I]Karkari[/I] was released in 2008. One song was an instant hit, and was played almost non-stop on Icelandic radio station [I]X-ið[/I]. The album was well received.
Their third album is due for release next fall, and I personally can't fucking wait.

You should, I personally think that the singer in Mammút is better than Björk.
Both are great though.
