I'm looking for a decent GFX card, but I don't have a lot of money to spend. Can you suggest a good one? And maybe find some cheap RAM? Well, just found out I'm probably getting my Grandmas old comp, so I have RAM. Just need a decent GFX Card now.
What exactly is your budget?
and current specs and country
What exactly is your budget?
Not exactly a set one, but something in the range of a main Christmas present.
and current specs and country
1 GB Ram Integrated NVIDIA 6100 AMD Dual Core 4000+ Vista 32 bit And U.S.
The range for a main christmas present for me is £200. What motherboard do you have?

You are going to want a ram upgrade a cpu and gpu upgrade.
You are going to want a ram upgrade a cpu and gpu upgrade.
My CPU is fine for now.
Detailed power supply specs please. I'm guessing it won't be able to cope with much more than a 4670.
My CPU is fine for now.
Most decent graphics cards you put with it will be bottlenecked.
Detailed power supply specs please. I'm guessing it won't be able to cope with much more than a 4670.
His PSU is a 300W thing without a single standard PCI-e or molex connector yeah The mobo is fine unless he wants to upgrade the CPU because it has a PCI-e x16 slot
His PSU is a 300W thing without a single standard PCI-e or molex connector yeah
And how does this power a working computer without a molex connector?
And how does this power a working computer without a molex connector?
If you're just going to spew shit get out The motherboard and CPU are powered by the 24-pin power connector standard on all PSUs (The -5v pin is not there on that particular Dell though)
You sir have no idea what you are talking about unless this computer has no hard drive or optical drive which either need a sata power cable or a molex.
It's a dell Probably has proprietary power connectors on the PSU end
It's a dell Probably has proprietary power connectors
That doesn't change how a computer works. Also you would just have to get a splitter of the one on either the hard drive or optical to power a graphics card.
Quit arguing in my thread. Can someone please suggest a GFX card?
It still doesn't have direct molex connectors and besides that PSU couldn't handle a graphics card for shit
It could easily handle a 4670. Which is the max I would put with his current psu. But Personally he should just upgrade completely.
It could easily handle a 4670. Which is the max I would put with his current psu. Good psu though. Also just give me a budget. [editline]05:49PM[/editline] Cpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103772 Gpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102854 You don't need a psu though. Since this gpu doesn't require a pci express cable and you system won't use of 300 watts right now.
most Dell's are not really built to be upgraded unless you buy a new dell so its not going to be a walk in the park, especially with that PSU. Its built to run what it was built to run, no more really. Go with sbradford's suggestion.
