Jailbroken Touch: Forcing wifi to stay on while locked

I've set up my laptop (linux) and media player to SSH into my iPod Touch so I can play it's music without copying everything over, though I'm pretty sure if the iPod is locked then the wifi will switch off after a while. Is there any way to force the iPod to keep wifi on if it is being ssh'd? or does the iPod automatically do this?

The mail app makes a blip when it gets a new email, even when locked so there is obviously a way.
If you have SBSettings, then download the "KeepAwake" toggle.
Fuck, I can't connect to the iSpazio repo for some reason. Tried with Cydia and Cyder with no luck :(
I need to get this because my iPod is being an annoying ass, when the wifi goes off after a lock it stays off until I reset my ipod.
I use Insomnia.

It works!
Thanks :)
The keep awake toggle for sbsettings is the most convenient way I've found.
