Hey, welcome to the thread!
In case you didn't understand the title, this thread is for members of Facepunch to ask for movie recommendations from the knowledgeable people in Film and Television.
There was a similar thread with the same initiative a while back and I thought it was a pretty damn good idea and I'm hoping to start it up again.
A good horror movie with nothing similar to a jump scare.
Also maybe a good action move similar to The Terminator.
You've probably seen it but The Shining is the most slowly developing and most rewarding horror movie I've ever seen. Also probably the only one I've seen that I've liked.
Also I am myself looking for an artsy movie, not indie artsy but animation artsy(anime totally acceptable)
Any movies with similar settings to Metro 2033, STALKER and Roadside Picnic?

Well there's the 1980 movie STALKER based off the book

Seen it. Good movie.
I was thinking more about something on a larger scale.

I can't figure out if it was ever translated to English

You should maybe watch Paprika. I really enjoyed it, and I think it classifies as artsy.
Highly unlikely that it ever was. Still a good movie nonetheless

Eraserhead
Recommend me an underrated action film with competent action scenes that aren't super shaky.

Donnie Darko
Memento
Legend of the Drunken Warrior is good.
From what I've seen of Sack Lunch, that one's pretty good too.
Jackie Chan's best film ever
I've watched Around the World in 80 Days, Shinjiku Incident, Operation Condor 1 & 2, Supercop, part of Project A, The Accidental Spy, The Medallion, and The Tuxedo. Operation Condor 1 & 2 are my favorite so far, so I'm looking for more Chan flicks.
Police Story and Legend of the Drunken Warrior. Chan at his best.

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6CFB9A4BE37013E7 it's subbed, what I believe to be the english version looks like it was removed from youtube.
Edit: There is no english version

pfft, the spy next door was obviously the best Chan movie.

Akira was great animation-wise for its time. It remains my favorite movie of all time since I saw it two years ago.

If you're a fan of old horror, check out Suspiria.

As much as I despise Oliver Stone, I have to throw JFK onto the table.

Depends on your definition of underrated, IMO.
I was a big fan of Brotherhood of the Wolf.
pfft, the spy next door was obviously the best Chan movie.
You're both wrong, Who Am I? is the best Chan movie ever.
Looking for gritty, entertaining crime movies the likes of Animal Kingdom and The Departed.

The Rock, Die Hard, Chinatown, Gangs of New York, Reservoir Dogs (although quite a bit talky), The Professional... there are others but I can't think at the moment.
You all keep forgetting Eastern Promises, Mystic River and LA Confidential, it saddens me
