I just bought a 5oz bottle of Delsym in which "Each 5mL contains DXM polistrirex equivalent to 30mg DXM HBr." Now, I understand that DXM poli is a time-release version of HBr and it is coated in edible plastix of some sort. Would drinking the syrup, without doing any extractions, provide me with a decent trip?
I did the math and since each 5mL has 30mg of DXM HBr, there's 888mg of DXM HBr in the bottle. I weight roughly 95-100kg and for a decent 2nd plateau trip a 6 mg/kg dose is needed. Is this still true with DXM poli? Would drinking 2/3 of this syrup (100mL; 600mg DXM) be the same as if it was just DXM HBr in the syrup?

Wont make a difference, Polistrirex is basically particles coated in a layer of plastic, a method of time release... Basically meaning it might hit you a bit slower
it won't hold the same effects, take about 140% of your normal dose of DXM IMO.
I had pretty much the best DXM trip of my life on only 1/3 of those bottles. ~300Mg of DXM HBr.
It works just the same imo. And I've dosed over 1,000Mg of DXM HBr before.
Thanks for the info guys. I ended up drinking the entire bottle and I was very disappointed. Took about 2 hours to kick in and all it gave me was a pretty strong drunken-high feeling for a few hours and then just a more mellow, dizzy feeling that slowly faded away. So, it was a very light "trip" but lasted for quite a while (Probably around 10 - 12 hours).
I will definitely stick with the standard DXM HBr... this just wasn't nearly as interesting/fun.
