Is it just me or is it every time I open sensationalist headlines there's another shooting..

Could be a bad drug deal or something of that nature? Maybe a woman is involved? Doesn't seem to be a "I'm gonna shoot up a school today" shooting.

I mean there is at least 1 shooting in the United States 365 days a year. AT LEAST. Im almost certain it has been that way for quite a while. Anytime i see a shooting on the news or here on this site I just typically turn my head from it, especially when they put a school or a mall or something in the title. These types of shootings have happened for decades upon decades. That doesnt mean it doesnt suck when they happen, but god damn am I sick of the Media blowing this out of proportion like this is an uncontrallable epidemic... Its a cold basically. It will happen and has always happened since the invention of the gun... and before that people were stabbing each other or blowing each other up. This isnt new...this isnt news... its life. I might have sounded like a cold cocksucker there but I've just hit my wits end about it.

So its just near a campus and not on campus as the title implies? Probably has nothing to do with the school.

The Syrian civil war's been going on for two years, guess we better stop reporting about that too. Hell, governments are always making decisions when you think about it- why bother doing stories on politics? The Oscars happen every year, so does the Super Bowl. The news reports on things based on two criteria: A: Will it get them views (unfortunately this is often the more important one) and B: Does it affect people? This one ticks both boxes- it affects the lives and families of those struck by the shooting, and it's about or near a school so it will get them views. If we only ever reported on extraordinary things, we wouldn't hear about half the things in the world- heck, we already don't, but we'd know even less.

my friend at state said it happened at an appartment that sells lots of drugs. campus pd didnt even sent out an alert until 3 hours later nothing but a drug deal or dispute. not a rampage or school shooting. just regular old boring crime. move along.

It was Jonesboro and Columbine that made the media realized that school shootings are almost as profitable as terrorism. That's why you hear about it everyday.
