The Postal Service says the dog almost certainly would have died if the sealed package wasn't seen moving on its own. UPDATE: Puppy Alive and Well at Animal Control (Feb. 1) The puppy's been cleaned up and is doing fine tonight, all thanks to some very quick thinking from some Post Office employees. It was last Tuesday when a woman walked into a downtown Minneapolis post office trying to ship a box to Georgia, when suddenly the box moved. Inside postal workers found the puppy. The box had no air holes, no food, or water. It would've been shipped by air in an unpressurized and unheated part of the plane. A postal inspector said the dog almost certainly would have died. The 4-month-old poodle mix is now in the custody of animal control. A supervisor said the puppy is doing fine. The suspect who tried to mail the puppy is 39-year old Stacey Champion. She lives in a downtown apartment building that just so happens was the scene of the city's first homicide of the year. She denied even knowing about the case when phoned by FOX 9's Tom Lyden. Champion is charged tonight with misdemeanor animal cruelty. But she could face more serious federal charges of trying to ship live animals in the U.S. Mail. Police said she was attempting to send the dog to Georgia as a gift.[/release] A pic of Guess: HOW COULD SHE?! *RAGE*
What sort of dumbass tries to send a puppy through the mail without at least poking some air holes in the box.
Wow. When i saw the title i thought that they charged her for no reason. But thats cruel. I hope the dog goes to a more deserving family.
What sort of dumbass tries to send a puppy through the mail without at least poking some air holes in the box.
I'm sure there were some holes but they were all covered with the mailing information and stuff, probably... :/
Animal cruelty is only a misdemeanor? I always found it odd that if an animal dies in some obscure way the general consensus is "bummer." For instance, my neighbors kid accidentally cooked their turtles in the bathtub trying to let them swim around.
For instance, my neighbors kid accidentally cooked their turtles in the bathtub trying to let them swim around.
Bummer
How do you cook your turtles by letting them swim in your bathtub unless the water is scorching hot, in which case that'd be just stupid?
Turtle soup is ok with me
How do you cook your turtles by letting them swim in your bathtub unless the water is scorching hot, in which case that'd be just stupid?
The kid was probably young and just turned a single knob on the bathtub without turning the other knob.
Obligatory what a bitch, lets kill her comment.
What a champion. The dog looks nice, I wonder who was supposed to get that gift. (Which would probably have turned out to be a dead dog.)
She is a champion of ignorance. Seriously. "Oh, I'll just mail this puppy as a gift! It'll be a nice surprise." Not even thinking about what an animal needs to survive, where it would be stored on the flight, telling the post office what she's doing so that she can get help doing it / do it right, etc. Just "I'ma send this puppy". And the homicide thing. "Oh yeah, and ma'am, don't you find that your case isn't really helped by the fact that someone was murdered in your building just this past month?" "...Someone was murdered here?" Edit: She named her dog Guess!? Okay, yeah, she couldn't find her way out of a cardboard box. Good thing the dog did, though.
What a dumb bitch.

What an idiot.
She is a champion of ignorance.
:golfclap:
She should be charged for an attempt of fucking murder
I bought a live chicken in the mail through ebay. Got to Canada just fine with no customs complaints.
Who cares, it's just a dumb dog ... OH GOD HOW COULD SHE DO THAT TO THIS CUTE LITTLE PUPPY, KILL HER IN THE WORST WAY IMAGINABLE
I'd take that dog into my home in a heartbeat. Plus I hope that stupid woman bangs her shin on a coffee table and that it hurts a lot. (as opposed to her being sent to the hell where people are skinned alive)
:wtc: Dumb bitch needs to be smacked.
