Disclaimer: Modern Family is a shitty TV show on ABC in the US. So none of you Euro people come in here and ask what it is.
It was a bad idea for ABC to even run one episode of their shitty new show Modern Family, but the fact that it's [b]still[/b] on the air deeply offends me.
The story is absolutely horrible. I've seen pornos with deeper storylines and more believable characters. And as we all know, porn movies with stories kill any shot at getting a boner you would have had. Modern Family makes your dick crawl up inside your body, that's how bad the story is.
However, the title seems to be pretty spot on for the show. The problem is that who in even their wrong mind would want to watch some bitchy soccer mom who drives a big 'ole SUV around, and some pussy dad who won't beat his snotty kids.
What genre is this supposed to be? It's not a comedy because it's not even remotely funny. It's not a drama because the story is banal trite and it's they live in candy land where nothing ever goes wrong. It's like some stupid documentary about a family that no one cares about, and has no redeeming qualities.
From what I've seen while channel surfing they had some episode about how they wanted to cut their expenses. So one of the first things they cut was cable which makes sense right? But how is that compelling television? And then the kids baw'd about losing their precious cable, who couldn't see that one coming a mile away? Then the rest of what I watched was about them trying to pay off their credit card debt. Wow, this family can really relate to 99% of America I guess. Shitheads who spend money they don't have on shit they don't need.
The marketing for this show is absolutely disgusting. You can't watch ABC for 5 minutes without getting this shitty show shoved down your throat. Not that there is anything worth watching on ABC anyway, so it's easy to avoid the commercials. I know that most shows on TV are awful, but Modern Family takes awful to a whole new level.
Whoever came up with this show is a terrible person and should be exiled from the rest of society and leave us alone.

I love how they purposely make the camera shakey to make it look like a real documentary (mockumentary) but it just looks like the camera man is an idiot. The only show that can do this right is The Office.
We get it on Sky One in Britain, can't see the video but I believe it's the same show.

This. In or to make it look more "realistic" and "on the spot" cameramen do hold the camera and whatnot, but they do it WAY too much. It's like he's puposely trying to sway the camera from side to side. The only time you ever need that much movement is in an action scene from an action film. That scene was just... sitting....
I actually like the show! It was aired in Iceland, and I found it very entertaining. I know it's a bit ill conceived, but still entertaining as hell :smile:

I don't know what you're on, it's just as funny as the Office, UK and US. It's certainly not the best comedy out there, but it's definitely the best network comedy next to shit like Two and a Half Men and Family Guy
I don't watch it, I've tried, and it's never made me genuinely laugh.
It's shit along with the rest of today's television, but then again, I don't spend much time watching TV.

I would guess that he feels it's literally shit, on the air. Many TV shows on the air right now are mediocre, a good few are just horrible. This, however, is decent (Telling from the clip presented to us,) but he thinks otherwise.
I'm guessing he's butthurt because he didn't get a good, hearty laugh out of it.

I tried watching that when it was on in the UK. Sounded good, but turned out to be utter pish :/.
