I want to use Nvidia 3D with Half-life 2, But I can't figure out how. I already set it up, but when i start the game and use the key command to activate the 3D, nothing happens. It says it should be compatible, And i've already searched google.
What kind of 3D are you trying to use.
Stereo or anaglyph?

Stereo, sorry.
and I'm assuming you have a 120 Hz monitor and active shutter glasses?

You don't actually need a 120Hz monitor AFAIK, it's just so you can get 60FPS.
I was under the impression that you needed the 120 Hz monitor. Are you sure about that?

120 hertz monitors are "required" so that you have 60 Hertz per eye, you can do it on a 60 Hertz monitor but everything will be limited to 30 FPS.
Well, I don't know what hertz my monitor is, and I don't understand the other question.

DarkImmortal, please explain how this post is dumb?
You need a 120hz monitor (3D ready should be advertised on it)
Nvidia 3D vision kit
Nvidia 8800GTS or newer
DVI connection from graphics card to monitor
When 3D is enabled I believe it is automatically applied to the game IF there is a profile for it in 3D settings
Any more questions just ask, got a monitor + kit a few days ago.

You need a pair of these to use nVidia Steroscopic 3D.http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_3D_VisionKit_us.html

Also, OT, Pyro, is it worth it?
Well.... I've yet to try it properly, getting a new computer in March and I'm stuck on my netbook which does have GT335 but only has a HDMI out, I'll try and see if I can use a HDMI-->DVI lead to get 3D vision working again.
As amazing as this might be. $200 for some stupid glasses does not seem to be worth the money. Especially considering the fact that I also need to buy some super fancy 120hz screen too.
I will personally wait until the 3d screens that work without glasses come by.
Auto-stereoscopic screens are very expensive and you can get a 3D monitor+3D kit for £400.

I am talking about the future. Where people can live forever and 3d screens are as common as a cold.
I'm betting the OP has some Real3D polarized glasses and thinks it will work.

Trying to watch 3D on a 60hz monitor by means of going with the stereo shutter glasses would incur headaches. If the game itself were truly running at 30 fps in 3D the frames would repeat once more just to fill that gap; no more headache inducing video.
