my GFX card shits out temps up to 190 degrees fahrenheit during load, idles at 57 celsius or 137 degrees fahrenheit. this is barely enough to artifact. used to get up to 216 fahrenheit before I rearranged my fans. I have a feeling the fan on my GFX card is clogged with dust, but I cant open it up because I have to reapply thermal paste to the GPU and I'm lazy and a klutz.
is there anything I can do? my GFX card is an ASUS EN8800GT TOP, and I cant control fan speeds because ASUS are pricks. case is a Thermaltake Armor LCS with the two front fans as intake and the back two as outflow. Top fan does jack all so I don't have one.
57C is fine, Asus usually has a Fan control speed utility on a CD or see their site for it..
or try Ntune
Nah, the asus 8800GT cards have no fan control whatsoever, I've googled it for hours
ntune says my GFX fan is going at 30,000RPM but i cant control it.

Gee I never thought of the most popular gfx card utility when I was thinking about my fan.
Trust me mister I don't read the thread, when I say there is no way to manually control the fan, I mean it.
I thought the same way, because the drivers for the "Radeon 3850" don't have a fan speed thing on them, took me days to find a controller.

haha epic
does it just slide into a front panel bay? thatss o cheap and smart i feel like a dipshit
also at manufacturers for having obscure methods for cooling that are awful to manage
why do you switch between C and F, just post those temps in C
Its fine..
Mine usually goes to 108c when gaming..
Yes i just cleaned my comp and still.. Dx

I bought it, so I could control the fan speed, while doing full screen apps, and right now, my GPU is at a nice 38c.

Because he's American.

57 degrees idle, up to 90 under load
visible and frequent artifacts at 90

FUCK this PC is trouble
i just spent the last two hours fighting a DNS hijacker trojan
Right so now I opened up my PC again right
took out ALL the fans
wiped the dust off (no compressed air XD)
took the sticker off
took out the bearing plug
put WD40 in the bearing
and now my GFX card idles at 46 C, or 114 F.
hate to bump my own thread thats over a month old, but I decided to just scrap the POS and I set up an RMA with ASUS after getting problems with it not being detected during POST
I used to have heat issues, I was suggested to do some cable organizing in my case and it got alot cooler. I also changed some of the fans direction and turned the heatsink, my case temps fell from 40*C to 35*C
My gpu used to reach 110*C, enough to get worried so I also clocked it down and turned the fans to maximum. I hate summers...
I also found lots of help by beeing pointed at www.justfuckingbingit.org

Yeah, I got the same card mate, I can't believe they don't include something so obviously needed.
