My internet is really fucked, don't know what happened

Recently my internet has been terrible. It's been slower than usual, and every couple of minutes when I try and load a new page, it will say 'Problem loading page' and will literally not work until I refresh it for up to 30 seconds.
It's getting unbearable and I have no clue what caused it. I recently set up a wireless connection, around christmas time, so maybe that caused it somehow? My computer is directly connected to my modem though so it wouldn't be the result of a bad signal.
Does anyone have any idea what is going wrong?
unplug and plug back in router? that's what i do when i get that problem
Restart your modem/router/computer.
Reset all of your hardware. Unplugg both the modem and the router. Turn off your computer also.
Plug in modem, wait 60 seconds. Plug in router, wait 60 seconds. Turn on your computer and test everything.
Keep in mind that 60 seconds isn't always enough. For example, if your modem still hasn't connected with your ISP (ex: ready light isn't on), then give it more time.
Try changing your DNS servers to:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
maybe DoS?
Though I don't know what it means :3:
Turn off computer.
Unplug router
Unplug modem
Go outside, do stuff.
Come back, replug everything and turn on computer.
Problem solved.
Are you in a city? You say it may be that you started a wireless connection - check to see if there are any PC's you don't recognize in the routers client list.
