• GTA IV Slow loading textures

The game runs really well, which is surprising (I thought people said you needed a super computer to run it, pretty much) I get great FPS with an old 8800GTS, but the problem is the textures are too slow to load. So, the initial load where I start indoors, everything looks fine. I walk outdoors and the road is not missing but it is a low resolution texture version, and stays that way until I drive around a bit. Driving around, the road sometimes becomes transparent but loads shortly after. I'm also missing a few small details as I drive around until they are loaded later As mentioned before, I have an 8800GTS. My theory is that since it only has 300MB (or so) of memory, the initial textures are loaded but there is not enough space to fit additional textures (I don't even know if that's how it works, it was a wild guess) I also thought it could be an HDD problem, so I tried defragging the GTA IV installation folder which did not help (would it need a full defrag to work?) Thanks for any suggestions
