Fatal Car Accident Caused By Deer (happened right in front of me omw to a party)

So me and this girl were driving to this graduation party and there was a car going pretty quick, so I just let him go because I had already dodged like 3 deers that night, I knew the deer were out. Next thing I know I see him hit a deer and swerve off the road and smash into a tree, it was very very grizzly watching his car take down a 30ft pine tree and roll. I called 911 and left an anonymous report, because the girl and I were smoking bud and cruising and I had alcohol with me. A neighbor had came out to see what the noise was as well. Not like I was going to rip the guy out myself from the mangled wreck that was his car. Scary as fuck to think that could've been me last night.
BRANCH TWP. — A Ludington man died this morning as a result of a single vehicle crash on North Benson Road. Donald McCrath, 55, was traveling north on Benson Road when his Pontiac Fiero apparently struck a deer. The vehicle then crossed the center-line and left the roadway, knocking over a 30-foot pine tree and then flipping over. Sheriff Kim Cole, who was on the scene, said speed was a factor in the crash; the victim was declared dead at the scene.
Wayne Smith, 975 N. Benson Road, said he heard the crash from his house. “It was 12:25 a.m. and I heard a loud noise, like a trailer going over a bump. I went outside to see what happened but it was too dark. At that time, someone was driving by and saw the car off the road. That’s when I called 911.”

Im disappointed you were driving intoxicated. This story is still really sad.
Driving while under the influence of anything is a stupid move OP
That easily could have been you
i especially liked all of the details of the story letting me know what a s1ck time you were having
heh the guy smoking weed doesnt hit a deer
obviously weed makes you a better driver
Jeez, that looks like a really bad crash.
Crash or not though, driving under the influence is not OK, op. That could have been you, deer or not.
Im sorry to break this to you guys but driving high isn't anything at all or even remotely close to driving while drunk.

I've driven high, it's not really all that bad.
I've driven high, it's not really all that bad.
I imagine most people who do it say the same thing, up until they crash.
you end up driving more cautiously when you are high

and im sure you're just as brain washed as the next guy into believing it's such a horrible thing.
Am I the only one pissed that the OP just left the scene and potentially left someone to die just because he didn't want to get caught? Like I'm going to sound like a huge ass here, but you left a wrecked car on the side of the road just because you didn't want to get caught doing something you damn well know you shouldn't be doing. After reading through the article, there's no indication that he was killed on impact either. God I sound like a huge cunt, but god damn, I think what you did was horrible.
I drove backseat with someone who was high as a kite.
I honestly thought I was going to die. I am thankful the trip was only like 3 minutes.
I understand driving while high isn't good, however it was like a "we are close to the party and only have 1 joint let's just smoke it right now instead of having everybody at the party ask to hit it". At least I wasn't driving drunk, there are studies coming out now by my states supreme court saying that as long as you aren't completely obliterated high you shouldn't be a very big risk.
This thread is now about flaming the Op for driving while high instead of the person that died.
Stay classy.

I don't want to use the word "brainwashed" here. It should be common sense that driving under toxins will fuck you over, and it takes experience doing so to convince you otherwise.
I've driven (a very short distance) while stoned on DXM from cough syrup, now that shit fucks you over, do not try DXM DUI
Fuck you for endangering others on the road. I've had too much of this around my own area with friends dying because someone else was DUI on the road.
You could have been in their position and you could be the dead one.
DUI =/= driving while high, there's even separate charges bud.

You understand you're trying to explain this to people who are completely oblivious to the actual effects of marijuana right?

There was a neighbor on the scene, it wasn't like I just left the guy for dead I made sure somebody else was there. Did you see the car? It was completely crushed and upside down, what the hell was I supposed to do man?
eh snip, I was a little harsh,

Driving stoned is NOTHING like driving drunk. Police have done trial runs having baked people drive courses, and it was very hard to tell they were even impaired until they had smoked so much they could hardly focus on anything, at which point the biggest offense was how slow they were going to be able to complete it. A drunk, on the other hand, will often speed up and plow through cones unphased.

How many were lost to drunk drivers? How many to stoned ones?
Just because they're both drugs doesn't mean they equally impair your driving. Of course impaired driving is never good, but high driving doesn't deserve nearly the attention drunk driving does.

You should have stopped. I'm not trying to make you feel responsible for his death. There's probably a good chance that the crash killed him, but I still think it's wrong that you didn't stop and check or attempt to help, or really do anything.

You could have helped the neighbour on the scene to see if there was anything you could do..,
I'm sure the authorities prefer you don't try to fuck with that and possibly endanger the victim and yourself
You understand you're trying to explain this to people who are completely oblivious to the actual effects of marijuana right?
I'm sure many of them have used marijuana before, some of them probably actively smoke it. This forum caters to the demographic who would have used it.
Even a marijuana smoker would not be unreasonable to believe use of the drug can impair one's driving.
THERE WAS SOMEBODY ELSE ON THE SCENE, YOU ARE NOT LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO HELP AT A FUCKING CRASH.
A fucking school teacher got into a fatal car accident and in the story it said the caller said "Am I obligated to go to the car and try to help him?" the 911 operator said no, and the person just waited at the scene for the police. Does that make that person a horrible monster you people are making me out to be? For fucks sake I watched somebody die last night, as if that wasn't traumatizing enough, you people expect me to have the same instinct/training as an EMS crew and just run right up to a bloody ass scene and be able to save the guy.

Maybe if he wasn't doing stupid shit he could have done something.
and im sure you're just as brain washed as the next guy into believing it's such a horrible thing.
I don't really care if someone wants to get high or whatever, but I don't want anyone who's under the effects of drugs that can affect someone's perception or ability to focus on the road, and that includes medicines as well recreational drugs.
Considering that he was speeding and SLAMMED into a tree chances are he broke bones in either his spine or neck or other very sensitive areas. They teach you not to move anyone AT ALL until the medics have arrived and can do their job if someone has broken vital bone structure.
