My boss had one of these and it burned her apartment to a crisp. She's been locked in a legal battle with her insurance company for more than a year trying to get paid for all the stuff she lost there.

Why does insurance exist if you have to spend more money in court to get what they owe you?

That's what happens when their greediness and stupidity isn't kept in check with regulations.
They become a regular ol' company only focusing on own (and owners/shareholders) needs.
