• Monitor has pinstripes after repair

I recently replaced two blown capacitors in my Westinghouse monitor/tv and now getting rainbow pinstripes on a part of the monitor. Now this is my own fault , as I bent some of the protective metal around the lcd screen when I pried off the outer plastic for the first time. The metal pinched one of the translucent brown ribbons at the top of the monitor. There are 8 of these brown ribbons connecting from the lcd screen to a circuit board behind it Is there any way to repair that part? Or am I stuck with buying a new monitor.
You usually cant solder these ribbons manually because they are to small. So yor probably screwed.
follow the specific line of the ribbon, and see where it connects, try to solder a wire to the point where the line connects to the point where it ends if you can see the connection there, theres basically no way to solder the ribbon itself.
This guide may be of some use to you, as it deals with the same issue, albeit on a much simpler screen: http://www.instructables.com/id/Repair-a-Malfunctioning-LCD/
