David Duke, Ex-K.K.K. Leader, to Seek Senate Seat in Louisiana
David Duke, a former leader of the Ku Klux Klan, announced a campaign on Friday to seek a United States Senate seat in Louisiana, where he will try to capitalize on a history of inflammatory speech and on the presidential campaign of Donald J. Trump.
Mr. Duke, who is running as a Republican, served as a Louisiana state representative and has run unsuccessfully for the State Senate, governor of Louisiana, Congress and president. He joined a sprawling field for the Senate seat being vacated by David Vitter, a Republican, intensifying what was already poised to be a raucous race.
“I believe in equal rights for all and respect for all Americans,” Mr. Duke said in a campaign video. “However, what makes me different is I also demand respect for the rights and the heritage of European Americans.”
Mr. Duke also said that “European Americans need at least one man in the United States Senate — one man in the Congress — who will defend their rights and heritage.”
...
The executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Ward Baker, said that Mr. Duke would not receive his organization’s support “under any circumstance.”
But Mr. Duke argued Friday that his views had merged into the mainstream of American political behavior and thought.
“I’m overjoyed to see Donald Trump and most Americans embrace most of the issues that I’ve championed for years,” Mr. Duke said.
Oh my god :v:
We have to vote him in so that we can get a truly progressive candidate next time

Contradictions within two sentences. Fantastic.
I mean Germany has Nazi reps in their government so why not
This isn't very suprising, he's ran for Senate a few times

I can't tell if you're joking but it should be pretty obvious that electing a convicted felon who's life revolves around hating people that aren't white isn't a great idea.
I have to admire his determination, this is not at all the first time he's run for office and it won't be the first time he falls flat on his ass.
Contradictions within two sentences. Fantastic.
That's not a contradiction, unless you believe "European Americans" (i.e. white people) don't deserve rights. What you're looking for is "redundancy" because all rights include European American rights.

That aside he's implying that white people are becoming second-class citizens (this is common white nationalist rhetoric) and he's trying to make a statement about how he'll fight to prevent that. I'm not sure how, if he did somehow get elected it would mean having to work with senators from all over the country to pass whatever legislation he proposed. This is where the whole white nationalist ideology falls apart because when you cut out the fantasy you're left with a bunch of white people who refuse to "wake up" and thus all of their goals will remain unfulfilled. I'm not sure why they think that their actions will make the masses go, "oh, holy shit, I totally forgot we were God's chosen people/biologically superior in every way!" (both narratives exist) For all of the blustering about how they're going to make the United States a White Nation™ they do a lot of talking about how retarded most people are. So either everyone is under the spell of Jewish/nigger/aliens control and won't listen without being "freed," or they're actually mentally retarded and simply cannot understand the oh so very advanced racial theory being pushed. Under either scenario the end result is the same: a small group of "racially aware" white people are powerless to make effectual change.
Of course the third option that I've left out is the reality: nobody pays attention to the wild ravings of racist assholes who are obsessed with either the Confederate South or Nazi Germany. They only really come in those two flavors, and sometimes I wonder if that obsession could be construed as cult behavior.

They aren't (quite) joking. The bar for outlawing parties is very high, so as long as they don't do something illegal, and aren't openly a nazi supporter, it's possible for extremist nationalists to be elected into (local) goverments. They aren't going to make it into the Bundestag any time soon though.
So Ex-KKK leader doesn't necessarily imply reformed KKK leader. This one's still a degenerate.
